Justice League Concept Art Showcases Zack Snyder’s Vision for Aquaman’s Classic Costume!

Concept artist Constantine Sekeris revealed a number of [easyazon_link identifier=”B077H3VB76″ locale=”US” tag=”boundingintocomics-20″]Justice League[/easyazon_link] concept images showcasing Zack Snyder’s vision for Aquaman’s classic costume.
Sekeris posted the concept art on his Art Station page where he described the process of these costume designs:
“BACK ON JUSTICE LEAGUE WHEN I WAS WORKING IN THE COSTUME DEPARTMENT UNDER COSTUME DESIGNER MICHAEL WILKINSON..HE HAD ME REALIZE AND EXPLORE AQUAMAN FROM A SKETCH THAT HE DID HIMSELF WITH THE DESIGN RYTHIM PATTERNS HE WANTED ME TO WORKOUT IN 3D AROUND THE BODY…HE WOULD SIT NEXT TO ME AND GUIDE ME IN 3D TO REFINE THE DESIGN AS WE EXPLORED HIS MORE TRADITIONAL COMIC DESIGN AND A MORE ASYMETRICAL LOOK AS WELL…IT WAS ABLAST WORKING ON THIS PROJECT WITH MY GOOD FRIENDS JERAD S MARANTZ AND IAN JOYNER…..AFTER I DID SOME INITIAL CONCEPTS OF AQUAMAN IT WAS THEN PASSED TO IAN TO REFINE AND TAKE FURTHER IN 3D FOR THE FINAL IN JUSTICE LEAGUE…..SEEING THE RECENT AQUAMAN FILM IT WAS GREAT TO C THE AMAZING NEW COSTUMES BROUGHT TO LIFE BY KYM BARRETT AND HER TALENTED TEAM.”

While we didn’t get to see Aquaman wear his classic armor in Justice League, it did show up in grand fashion in James Wan’s Aquaman film.
In fact, the armor came as a package deal with Aquaman’s trident as he proved himself worthy of the Trident of Atlantis and the true heir of Atlantis.
It was a pivotal scene that showed just how far Arthur Curry’s character had come since the beginning of the film. It showed he had come to accept his responsibility as king and was willing to fight for his people whether on land or on sea.
These new Aquaman concept images might also add more fuel to the fire of a Zack Snyder Justice League cut.
Snyder recently revealed deleted scenes involving Aquaman from Justice League. In fact, Aquaman actor Jason Momoa talked about Snyder’s cut revealing there were significant Aquaman scenes cut from Justice League.
“In Zack’s cut, we had it where I was with Vulko and Mera and I say that I have to go home, and they say ‘There’s a force coming,’ and that I need to help. And I’m like ‘I’m going home to see my dad,’ and so I get in the back of a pickup truck, pound a bottle of something, and off he goes, the wanderer, you know what I mean? So that was kind of like the end of ‘Justice League’ where I was going – and then we cut to me coming home and run into a submarine and bang oh! Then go see pops and I think he’s just going to get rooted again; I think he’s been gone for so long it’s just him trying to kind of come back to his roots…”
