Batman Actor Christian Bale Calls President Donald Trump a “Clown”

Batman actor Christian Bale, who recently received a best actor nomination for his role as Vice President Dick Cheney, declared President Donald Trump “a clown” in a recent interview.

The English actor spoke with the Press Association regarding [easyazon_link identifier=”B07MNJ3JPP” locale=”US” tag=”boundingintocomics-20″]Vice[/easyazon_link] and his views on Dick Cheney and President Trump.

Bale began by pointing out that he and director Adam McKay, who has expressed interest in a Silver Surfer movie, did not want to have Dick Cheney to look like a monster. Bale explained, “because we’re not children who think that monsters look like monsters. Monsters don’t look like monsters.”

Bale would then go on to compare Cheney and Trump declaring, “He’s (Trump) bombastic, he’s loud. Cheney was quiet and secretive and far more capable, far more brilliant.” He continued, “In terms of their ability to understand government, there’s no comparison. Trump doesn’t understand it, Cheney did, that’s what made him so powerful, these decades within the government.”

Then Bale would decide to call President Trump a “clown.”

“Whereas Trump is sort of a clown by comparison. Clowns can do a lot of damage but fingers crossed in the next two years that doesn’t happen.”

Bale would end his thoughts on Trump, “But I would say because of his enormous ego, Trump is actually far less dangerous – providing he doesn’t go bloody pushing the button – than Cheney.”

This isn’t the first time Bale has made headlines concerning his role as Dick Cheney in Vice. He started a feud with Congresswoman Liz Cheney, the daughter of the Vice President, after thanking Satan for inspiring him in his portrayal of Cheney during the Golden Globe Awards.

Bale isn’t the only celebrity who has come out against Donald Trump. Hellboy actor Ron Perlman seemingly derides the President and his followers on a nearly weekly basis on Twitter. And he doesn’t just target the President, he’s targeted Republican lawmakers as well. Stark alum George Takei has also got in on the Trump bashing, targeting the President for a fast food meal for the College Football National Champions Clemson Tigers. And not to be outdone, Captain America actor Chris Evans has colorfully expressed his opinions about President Donald Trump as well as Republican lawmakers.

It’s more than likely we will expect more political commentary from Hollywood celebrities especially as the days edge ever closer to 2020.

What do you make of Christian Bale’s recent comments about the President? Do you agree with him or do you think he’s completely wrong?
