Rumor: Major Thor Character Expected to Return from Dead in Avengers: Endgame

A new rumor indicates a major Thor character will return from the dead in Avengers: Endgame.

Revenge of the Fans reports that Rene Russo’s Queen Frigga of Asgard will return for Avengers: Endgame. Queen Frigga was the wife of Odin and the mother of Thor and the adopted mother of Loki.

If you remember, Frigga valiantly died defending Asgard and Jane Foster from the Dark Elf invasion led by Malekith as he sought out the Aether.

It’s unclear what role Frigga might play, but she is a powerful sorceress who was able to conjure and maintain illusions even while fighting Malekith.

Given many of the rumors and theories surrounding Avengers: Endgame indicate there will be time travel, it’s possible Thor and the Avengers might visit Frigga in Asgard where she provides them advice on how to strike back against Thanos.

Given the Asgardians have intimate knowledge of quantum mechanics specifically their Soul Forge which is able to transfer molecular energy from one place to another. It’s possible Frigga might provide advice on how to undo Thanos’ snap and recover the souls who were dusted.

There is also the possibility that Thor might use Tony Stark’s B.A.R.F. technology and revisist a memory involving his mother. In that memory he might find a clue to unlocking the secrets of the Quantum Realm that could allow the Avengers to travel through time using the Quantum Realm and defeat Thanos before he is able to strike.

What role do you see Queen Frigga playing in Avengers: Endgame if this rumor pans out to be true? Might she also hint at the possibility of Loki surviving Thanos’ crushing grip?

It’s possible we might get answers sooner rather than later as all indications hint that Disney will be running a Super Bowl spot for Avengers: Endgame.

Regardless we will find out what Queen Frigga’s role is when Avengers: Endgame hits theaters on April 26th.
