Amazon Announces A-List Voice Cast for Animated Invincible Series – Includes Steven Yuen, Mark Hamill, and More

Amazon and [easyazon_link identifier=”1534310231″ locale=”US” tag=”boundingintocomics-20″]The Walking Dead[/easyazon_link] creator Robert Kirkman announced their A-list voice cast for the upcoming animated television series based on Kirkman’s comic Invincible.
The Hollywood Reporter notes the show will feature Star Wars legend Mark Hamill, Spider-Man veteran J.K. Simmons, The Walking Dead’s Steven Yeun, [easyazon_link identifier=”B07F1BK3BJ” locale=”US” tag=”boundingintocomics-20″]Ant-Man and The Wasp’s[/easyazon_link] Walton Goggins, Grey’s Anatomy’s Sandra Oh, and Joker’s Zazie Beetz.
The cast will also include Seth Rogen, Gillian Jacobs (Love), Andrew Rannells (Black Monday), Jason Mantzoukas (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), Mae Whitman (Good Girls), Chris Diamantopoulos (Silicon Valley), Melise (The Flash), Kevin Michael Richardson (The Simpsons), Grey Griffin (Avengers Assemble), and Max Burkholder (Parenthood).
Kirkman took to Twitter to proclaim his excitement for the cast and the show.

Invincible will be an eight episode series with each episode running about an hour. The story will focus around Mark Grayson voiced by Steven Yeun. Grayson is the son of the most powerful superhero on the planet Omni-Man, voiced by J.K. Simmons. As Grayson comes into his own and develops his own powers he discovers his father’s heroic legacy may not be all it’s cracked up to be.
The series is expected to debut on Amazon Prime in 2020.
The original [easyazon_link identifier=”158240500X” locale=”US” tag=”boundingintocomics-20″]Invincible[/easyazon_link] comic book series began in 2003 under Kirkman’s Skybound Entertainment. It was published by Image Comics and ran 144 issues only wrapping up its last issue, last February. Kirkman would originally create the series with artist Cory Walker, but would collaborate with artist Ryan Ottley beginning with the eighth issue.
While Kirkman and Amazon are working an animated adaptation for the series, the series is also expected to be adapted into film by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg for Universal. Rogen and Goldberg are expected to write, direct, and produce the film with Kirkman serving as a producer.
