Funimation Replaces Vic Mignogna in Morose Mononokean II After Allegations of Sexual Misconduct

Funimation replaced voice actor Vic Mignogna for their English dub of Morose Mononokean II. Mignogna originally gave voice to the Executive. That role has now been given to Ian Sinclair as seen on Funimation’s website.

Anime News Network confirmed Funimation replaced Mignogna with Sinclair beginning with the most recent episode, “The Tiger.” Mignogna was also fired from Rooster Teeth’s RWBY where he gave voice to Qrow Branwen.

FanCons also reports that a number of conventions have removed Mignogna as a guest including Anime NYC 2019, Emerald City Comic Con 2019, Florida Supercon 2019, and others.

All of this comes after allegations of sexual misconduct have been leveled against Mignogna.

Mignogna, who recently starred in Funimation’s Dragon Ball Super: Broly, has addressed the allegations multiple times already. He first addressed them via Twitter where he apologized to both convention staff members as well as his own fans.

Mignogna wrote, “I sincerely apologize to any convention staff member who ever felt I was anything less than kind and grateful to be included in their event.” He would add, “I would also like to sincerely apologize to anyone who ever felt my interaction with them ( a hug or a kiss on the cheek or forehead) was crossing a line.”

He would go into more detail in an appearance at Bak-Anime 2019.

He explained how he has always been demonstrative in his interactions with fans:

“As long as I’ve been doing events, which is a long time, I’ve always been very demonstrative. Hug everybody, know what I mean? That’s just always been who I am. You could go back and find panels or Q&As or autograph sessions from 10, 12, 15 years ago and I’m doing the same thing. In my mind, it’s a way of saying thank you and expressing kindness and appreciation and warmth and support. For a lot of people that could use it. You know what I’m talking about when I say that. But here’s what I’ve learned.”

He would go on to directly address and deny the accusations of assault, abuse, and sexual misconduct.

“Now I have to just say this, but any kind of claims of assault or molestation or abuse, no.”

Do you think Funimation made the right decision to replace Vic Mignogna? Do you think they might replace him as Broly as well?
