Chris Pratt Provides Massive Update on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 – Film Will Use James Gunn’s Script

Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt revealed that James Gunn’s script will be used for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

Pratt spoke to MTV News where he was asked if they were using James Gunn’s script for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Pratt responded, “Yeah.” He was then asked if he read the script to which he replied, “Yeah I have. It’s off the chain. It’s so good. It’s so good.”

Pratt would go on to discuss his relationship with James Gunn:

“Well, I love James. I’m loyal to James and I love him so much.”

He would then promise that Marvel will put out a Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

“And we’re gonna deliver the movie. We’re gonna give the fans what they deserve. And I think it’s in the nature of the Guardians of the Galaxy to come together and get the job done. And that’s what we’ll do.”

Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige had previously spoken to MTV News on the red carpet at the Golden Globes saying, “Guardians will happen, when, where, how, for a later time.”

Feige previously told reporter Erick Weber at a Black Panther event the film was “on hold.”

However, it appears like the gears might be starting to turn for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 as Sean Gunn, James Gunn’s brother and the actor who plays Kraglin in the films, told reporters at Stan Lee’s tribute in Los Angeles, “Guardians 3 is gonna get made. We’re gonna make that movie, and we’ll figure out what happens there, but you know everything ends up having a way of working itself out I think.”

While the gears might be turning, it doesn’t look like there is a definitive date for the film, as Disney and Marvel Studios will need to find a director to replace James Gunn. And while Chris Pratt noted the Guardians would come together to get the job done, Dave Bautista, who plays Drax, made it abundantly clear that he was not happy with Marvel and Disney for firing James Gunn.

Bautista even stated that Marvel and Disney should either fire or recast him if they don’t use James Gunn’s script.

“Where I’m at right now is that if [Marvel] don’t use that script, then I’m going to ask them to release me from my contract, cut me out or recast me. I’d be doing a James a disservice if I didn’t.”

When do you think Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will happen? Do you think they might struggle to get the entire cast back? What do you make of the fact that they will most likely use James Gunn’s script?
