Rumor: Twilight’s Robert Pattinson Could Be Next Batman

Graphic artist BossLogic stoked a recent rumor that Twilight actor Robert Pattinson could become the next Batman in Matt Reeves’ film.
BoosLogic would write, “A choice that I never would have thought to try but been hearing some background chatter about Robert Pattinson being looked at, if the talks (source) are true then all of our predictions were wrong. This might be your new Bruce.”

Neither Warner Bros. nor Matt Reeves have announced an actor who will take up the cape of Batman after Ben Affleck announced he would no longer be playing the character.
Given there hasn’t been any word from Warner Bros. or Matt Reeves it has lead to plenty of speculation and rumors involving everyone from Mad Men’s Jon Hamm to musician Nick Jonas, and now Robert Pattinson. Even Law & Order: SVU actor Chris Meloni threw his hat in the ring after he got wind of the Pattinson rumor.
Director Matt Reeves did recently provide a huge update on the film reaffirming it would be a noir film focusing on The World’s Greatest Detective actually putting those detective skills to work.
“It’s very much a point of view-driven, noir Batman tale. It’s told very squarely on his shoulders, and I hope it’s going to be a story that will be thrilling but also emotional. It’s more Batman in his detective mode than we’ve seen in the films. The comics have a history of that. He’s supposed to be the world’s greatest detective, and that’s not necessarily been a part of what the movies have been. I’d love this to be one where when we go on that journey of tracking down the criminals and trying to solve a crime, it’s going to allow his character to have an arc so that he can go through a transformation.”
He also did indicate that casting for the role would begin shortly, so it’s possible these rumors might have some validity to them.
“The casting process will begin shortly. We’re starting to put together our battle plan. I’m doing another pass on the script and we’ll begin some long-lead stuff to start developing conceptual things.”
The film is expected to hit theaters on June 25, 2021.
