Brie Larson: “There’s A Lot of People to Hate” in Captain Marvel, Kong: Skull Island, and Unicorn Store

Brie Larson recently appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! where she admitted “there’s a lot of people to hate” who worked on Captain Marvel, Kong: Skull Island, and Unicorn Store.

Larson admitted she had quite a bit of hate for people who worked on these films while discussing her friendship with Samuel L. Jackson.

She discusses that Jackson and her text each other using code words:

“We’ve gotten into this because in the film there are Skrulls. Part of how you know if someone is a Skrull is you ask them personal questions. So, we’ve been rolling pretty deep with that. There’s things that only we know.”

Larson then adds, “They deal mostly with people that we hate.” She continues, “We’re pretty stealthy about it.”

Kimmel then asks Larson, “There are people that you mutually hate?” Larson responds, “Of course.” Kimmel then states, “That would mean because I am a detective I would say you know those people from the movie King Kong.

Larson responds, “Well, we’ve done three movies together. There’s a lot of people to hate.”

Kimmel then tries to change the topic stating, “I don’t think this is the message Marvel wants to spread to children.” Larson takes the out, “Well, if it helps you from detecting a Skrull. I think that that’s helpful…Of course, the human race is on the line. It’s okay.”

As to who Larson and Jackson might mutually hate is anyone’s guess. But their co-stars in Kong: Skull Island included Tom Hiddleston, John C. Reilly, John Goodman.

The two star alongside Ben Mendelsohn, Jude Law, Annette Bening, Lashana Lynch, Clark Gregg, Lee Pace, Gemma Chan, Djimon Hounsou, Algenis Perez Soto, and Rune Temte in Captain Marvel.

In Unicorn Store which was directed by Brie Larson, their co-stars include Bradley Whitford, Joan Cusack, Karan Soni, and Martha MacIsaac.

It’s quite possible Larson and Jackson don’t hate their co-stars, but could be the crew and staff on these films.

Regardless, Larson’s appearance on Kimmel will more than likely fuel the rumor that members of the Avengers cast are not happy with Brie Larson.

A Reddit user by the name of ImLeaking, who claimed they were a contractor working with Disney on Avengers: Endgame detailed that Larson can be “very contesting.”

These comments are just the latest in a string of divisive comments from Larson while promoting Captain Marvel. She indicated Captain Marvel was “[her] form of activism.”

Larson previously insinuated she wanted less white men covering her on the Captain Marvel press tour as well as reviewing the film. She would walk back those comments saying she wanted to “bring more seats up to the table.”

She’s stated the “that was the patriarchy ringing on my parade.”

She revealed that Marvel Studios approached her to make a “big feminist movie.” She would go on to describe Captain Marvel as a film about intersectional feminism.
