Westworld Star Evan Rachel Wood Shares Photos of Self-Harm – Claims Abuser Threatened to Kill Her!

Westworld and True Blood alum Evan Rachel Wood took to Twitter to share photos of self-arm which she claims were to try and prevent abuse from her partner. A partner who she alleges threatened to kill her.

Wood first tweeted out several photos from an old photoshoot where she indicated she had been “weakened by an abusive relationship.” She would go on to say she “was emaciated, severely depressed, and could barely stand.”

She would follow that tweet up with one of her showing cuts on her forearm. She claims that after two years in an abusive relationship she “resorted to self harm.” She states, “When my abuser would threaten or attack me, I cut my wrist as a way to disarm him.” It would only work momentarily she claims, “It only made the abuse stop temporarily. At that point I was desperate to stop the abuse and I was too terrified to leave.”

Wood would go on tweet that she is not happy about the “current Statue of Limitations holding survivors back from naming their abusers.”

She would elaborate:

Evan Rachel Wood would also go on to address the difficulty of women getting out of domestic violence relationships.

In fact, Wood would admit that her abuser threatened to kill her.

Wood would make it clear that she she isn’t just advocating for women who are victims of domestic abuse, but men as well.

She would also indicate that she sufferes from PTSD and it “had a serious impact” on her life and intimate relationships.

She would eventually post an emotional video where she states she is “still searching for some kind of peace.” She also indicates she’s trying to put the abuse behind her.

Wood would also state that she hasn’t been self-harming herself since the abusive relationship.

Wood has spoken out about her abusive relationship before. In an interview with Rolling Stone in November of 2016, Wood claimed she had been raped twice.

I’ve been raped. By a significant other while we were together. And on a separate occasion, by the owner of a bar . . .   I don’t believe we live in a time where people can stay silent any longer. Not given the state our world is in with its blatant bigotry and sexism.

In the same interview she indicated she had attempted suicide at age 22 describing it as “weirdly, the best-worst thing that ever happened to me. β€˜Cause it did not work.”

Last year the actress testified before Congress before the House Judiciary Committee. There she pressed the members of Congress for more federal support for victims of sexual assault. In the Instagram post for that day, she stated: “Making herstory with these incredible women, testifying in front of #Congress today. Still spinning. ✊🏻 @risenow.us”.
