Hallmark Fires Lori Loughlin – Scrubs Her from Promotional Images for When Calls The Heart

Lori Loughlin was not only fired from the Hallmark Channel, but the network also scrubbed all promotional images of the actress for the western drama When Calls The Heart according to The Blast.

Loughlin, who did voice work on Justice League Unlimited and briefly appeared on The CW’s Birds of Prey television show, was fired by Hallmark after her alleged involvement in a college cheating scandal. Loughlin and her husband fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli are accused of paying a $500,000 bribe to get their daughters into the University of Southern California by having them labeled as USC crew team recruits.

Hallmark Cards Inc. released a statement revealing they would no longer be working with Loughlin.

“We are saddened by the recent news surrounding the college admissions allegations. We are no longer working with Lori Loughlin and have stopped development of all productions that air on the Crown Media Family Network channels involving Lori Loughlin, including ‘Garage Sale Mysteries,’ an independent third party production.”

Loughlin starred in When Calls The Heart as Abigail Station. She also starred in Garage Sale Mysteries. She would appear in a number of Hallmark Channel movies including Every Christmas Has a Story and Homegrown Christmas. The series and movies Loughlin stars in are major hits for the network. When Calls The Heart is one of Hallmark’s most popular shows. The February 24, Season 6 Premiere had approximately 3.1 million viewers. CinemaBlend reported the show’s season premiere was the second most viewed scripted show of the week behind The Walking Dead.

The Blast reports that Hallmark “removed her image from promotional photos for the brand.” However, they note “you can still find photos of her deep in media for the show, but the top layer of all the advertising and promos have removed her image.”

Not only was Loughlin fired by Hallmark, but TMZ reports the actress was cut from the final season of Netflix’s Fuller House. Their source tells them, “Fuller House is not currently in production. Lori is a guest star and was during the previous 4 seasons and there are currently no plans for her to return to the 5th season.”

Loughlin’s daughter Olivia Jade, who was the alleged beneficiary of the bribes, was dropped by Sephora and TRESemmé.

Before becoming a huge hit on the Hallmark Channel, Loughlin starred in the wildly popular 90s series Full House as Aunt Becky and would reprise her role in Netflix’s Fuller House. She would then star as Melanie Clifford in Hudson Street. Loughlin also starred in 90210.

As we mentioned before, Loughlin is no stranger to the comic book world. She played Caroline Lance, the mother of Black Canary on The CW’s Birds of Prey show. She would go on to play Dr. Tracy Simmons in the Justice League Unlimited animated series.

Loughlin has yet to even enter a plea before the court, and she has found herself being systematically removed from the industry she has worked in since the 1980s. Roman Polanski is still able to work in Hollywood even after admitting to raping an underage girl. In fact, he’s even won an Oscar decades after he admitted his guilt. Just last year, Fox had to cut a scene from The Predator after it was discovered the film’s director, Shane Black, hired a registered sex offender as an actor. Hollywood doesn’t seem opposed to giving sexual predators jobs even after they have admitted guilt, but they are perfectly fine axing Lori Loughlin for being accused of bribing to get her kids into the University of Southern California.

I want to hear from you all now.

What do you make of Loughlin getting fired by Hallmark and her image scrubbed from the site? Do you think these companies might be jumping the gun before Loughlin is even found guilty?
