Marvel Releases New Official Synopsis for Avengers: Endgame: “Final Stand”

Marvel released a brand new official synopsis for Avengers: Endgame on the movie’s official website.

It reads:

“The grave course of events set in motion by Thanos that wiped out half the universe and fractured the Avengers ranks compels the remaining Avengers to take one final stand in Marvel Studios’ grand conclusion to twenty-two films, “Avengers: Endgame.””

The synopsis is rather interesting because it states that Thanos’ attack fractured the Avengers ranks.

One could argue Thanos did that by wiping out a number of the Avengers like Spider-Man, Vision, Scarlet Witch, and Falcon.

However, the real fracture occurred before Thanos entered the picture in [easyazon_link identifier=”B01F4BWXCC” locale=”US” tag=”boundingintocomics-20″]Captain America: Civil War[/easyazon_link] when Captain America stood up for his long-time friend Bucky Barnes, who had been brainwashed by Hydra and turned into a lethal assassin.

Could this synopsis be hinting that Thanos had some role to play in pitting the Avengers against each other in Captain America: Civil War?

With the information we have from Captain Marvel, it’s quite possible to gain powers from the Infinity Stones without actually having them in your control. Could Thanos have been using some power he inherited from the Mind Stone before giving it to Loki during the events of [easyazon_link identifier=”B009GEEMLY” locale=”US” tag=”boundingintocomics-20″]The Avengers[/easyazon_link]? Was he using the Mind Stone’s power to manipulate Helmut Zemo?

Maybe the most important part of this new synopsis is the fact that it says the Avengers will be making one final stand. Could this mean that they might actually be defeated again by Thanos? Or what is more likely is that it’s hinting at the end of some Avengers careers as superheroes? Could we see Captain America make a heroic sacrifice in order to defeat Thanos? Will Iron Man eventually hang up his suit and settle down with Pepper Potts? Will Thor return to safeguarding the galaxy and take up his role as King of Asgard?
