Triple Frontier and Star Wars Actor Oscar Isaac Addresses Batman Rumors

Triple Frontier and Star Wars actor Oscar Isaac recently addressed rumors on whether or not he will don the cowl and cape of Batman.

Graphic artist Boss Logic stirred the rumor mill pot when he mocked up Oscar Isaac becoming Batman.

In an interview promoting Netflix’s Triple Frontier with Metro, Isaac addressed the Batman rumors:

“No. I have only read it online like everyone else. I haven’t had any conversations about Batman, unfortunately, but I am sure it is going to be great. Matt Reeves is such a great director. Yeah, he can get my number.”

While, he states he hasn’t had any discussions, he does indicate that he would be interested in the role.

However, Isaac might be a long shot to becoming the next Batman. Isaac is 40 and most rumors about who Reeves and Warner Bros. are looking for indicate they want a 20-something actor.

Even Ben Affleck let it slip that they were seeking a younger actor to play Bruce Wayne. The former Batman actor told Entertainment Tonight, “they’re doing a young version a more starting-version with a younger guy.”

As Boss Logic mentions, Isaac might be more inclined to play a Batman villain rather than Bruce Wayne. Isaac is no stranger to comic book villains. He recently portrayed Apocalypse in X-Men: Apocalypse.

Boss Logic theorized he would make a good Two-Face or Black Mask. It’s more than likely he won’t be Black Mask as Ewan McGregor has that role locked up for Birds of Prey, but Two-Face is a possibility.

I’m inclined to think Two-Face won’t be included in Reeves’ version because it would be too easy to compare it to Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy.

Most rumors indicate the main villain will be Penguin. But there have been reports the film will include up to three villains.

If I had my druthers I wouldn’t mind seeing Clayface and KGBeast as villains.

Would you want to see Isaac become Batman? Or do you think he would be better as a Batman villain? What Batman villain would you want him to play?
