Anime Matsuri Announces Devil May Cry V Voice Actor Reuben Langdon as Guest!

Anime Matsuri announced Devil May Cry 5 voice actor Reuben Langdon would be attending the convention as a guest. Langdon recently provided voice work as well as motion capture on [easyazon_link identifier=”B07DJX3XJS” locale=”US” tag=”boundingintocomics-20″]Devil May Cry 5[/easyazon_link] as Dante. He’s also known for voicing Ken Masters in Street Fighter V and playing Dickerson in Star Trek Continues. Langdon is also an accomplished stunt man working on Ant-Man, Batman: Arkham Origins, The Last of Us, Tomb Raider, Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, Dexter, The Office, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End, and many more games, television shows, and movies.

Anime Matsuri made the announcement late last week on Twitter writing, “Welcome Reuben Langdon to AM2019 aka Dante from the Devil May Cry Franchise, Chris from the Resident Evil Franchise, & Ken from the Street Fighter Franchise.”

Both Anime Matsuri and Landgon have been the center of controversy. Anime Matsuri has seen an ongoing boycott of the convention due to sexual misconduct allegations. The boycott increased their scope when Anime Matsuri announced Dragon Ball Super: Broly voice actor Vic Mignogna would be attending as a guest.

As for Langdon, not only did he survive a gun shot attack while filming a movie in Guatemala, he’s also found himself in the middle of controversy. Langdon faced heated criticism after discussing his opinions on the #MeToo Movement and Black Lives Matter on the Toy Bounty Hunters YouTube channel.

After discussing his opinions, Langdon became the target of articles written by Newsweek and Eurogamer following a forum post on ResetEra.

Langdon would address Newsweek’s article in a post to his Facebook page where he wrote in part:

“So yesterday I was contacted by someone claiming to be from Newsweek (see email attachment) I replied that I’m willing to talk about other stuff (anything but Vic) and that’s what I meant. I am all for engaging in a dialogue and giving a platform to discuss openly and without bias on where I Stand on certain issues. I’ll talk about #metoo and #blacklivesmatter I’m all for true journalism. To hear all sides of a story. As opposed to hand picking certain sentences from an interview that they didn’t even perform! Then making up a narrative to serve your clear bias about the #qanon 8chan discussions.”

Anime Matsuri takes place between June 13th and June 16th.
