Avengers: Endgame Actor Don Cheadle Jokes He Would Use Infinity Gauntlet to Snap President Trump Into Dust

Avengers: Endgame actor Don Cheadle, who plays War Machine in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, recently joked that he would snap President Donald Trump out of existence with the Infinity Gauntlet.

The Infinity Gauntlet is a powerful item that combines six Infinity Stones and grants the wearer the ability to snap his fingers and make a certain desire to come true. Thanos uses the Infinity Gauntlet to wipe out half of all humanity in Avengers: Infinity.

During an interview on Variety and iHeart Radio’s new podcast “The Big Ticket, Cheadle was asked who he would snap out of existence.

Cheadle responded, “I think we all know. I’m on Twitter pretty heavily. Yeah. I’ve snapped that dude out a couple times.”

Cheadle would go on to insinuate that Thanos is a stand-in for Donald Trump in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Variety’s Marc Malkin compares the Infinity Gauntlet to a nuclear button when he asks, “When you look at it, it’s just like having your finger on the button right?”

Cheadle would state:

“It is. That’s another thing that the Marvel movies do really well is intentionally weave in themes and weave in topics that through still the prism of Marvel deal with a lot of the things we are dealing with and speak about a lot of the things that are very topical that makes the movies feel very current and fresh and now. You can tie it into it. It’s for kids and adults. Everyone can find their own place in these movies. I think that’s why they constantly work and people have such a thirst for them.”

The actor has actively used his platform as a celebrity to push a number of political causes. Recently, he signed Alyssa Milano’s letter that called for Hollywood to boycott the state of Georgia over a pro-life bill that was moving through the legislature. It was a huge statement for Cheadle given that Disney films a lot of their Marvel films in Atlanta, Georgia.

Cheadle would discuss signing the letter with Malkin:

“I think it’s really about a wave of human rights issues that we are seeing. Not just in our country, but really across the world. There feels to me that there is a real ideological struggle between trying to go back to a time of “Again.” Which what is that? I don’t even know when again was. I think of a comedian who has become sort of persona non grata. His joke about going to the future about going to the past and him saying as a white man,’I can go to any year and they’ll just snap down a table and be like ‘Hey, have a seat here!’ but the future, I’m not going there because we are going to have to pay for everything we did and I’m not dealing with that.”

He continues:

“As things progress, obviously more people want to pull back who are frightened of what that potentially could mean. I just feel that specifically with something that has already been adjudicated; this has already been decided. Roe vs. Wade has been decided. And to want to go and re-litigate that, and this bill is particularly draconian with what it wants to do with women that it’s very important that we speak up and show up, I think if we don’t we have no one to blame if things turn to “Again” again.”

Cheadle would also comment on the upcoming Presidential election in 2020 saying, “Something needs to change dramatically and drastically, and I hope it does.”He adds, “I’m somewhat skeptical about our ability to pull ourselves out of it, but I’m hopeful that it does at the same time. And I know hope without work is hopeless.”

Not only has Cheadle signed his name to Alyssa Milano’s letter, but in February he appeared on Saturday Night Live and wore a “Protect Trans Kids” shirt. He would also put on a Soviet era hockey jersey with Donald Trump’s last name emblazoned on the back referencing the now discredited Russian collusion conspiracy theory.

Cheadle has also accused President Donald Trump of calling a friend’s father the N-word. In now-deleted tweets, People reports Cheadle stated, Hated him since he asked my friend’s father at a Doral pro-am if he’d ever ‘f—ed a n—‘… Did it for me…”

He would also indicate that racism was in President Trump’s nature, “Many already know this to be in his nature. It’s not hidden. And those who can’t see it, might never. The story would have changed little.”

Don Cheadle isn’t the only Avenger who has sent their sights on President Trump or looked to help progressive causes.

A few weeks ago, fellow Avengers: Endgame actor Mark Ruffalo teamed up with filmmaker Michael Moore for what they called the “2020 Blue Deluge.”

Fellow Avengers star Chris Evans has also been politically active targeting Republican Senator Lindsey Graham as well as Vice President Mike Pence. Although more recently he appears to be trying to create a platform where people can hear differing opinions on key issues.

What do you think of Don Cheadle’s comments regarding Donald Trump and his reasons for signing the letter calling for Hollywood to boycott Georgia?
