Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson to Meet with Marvel Studio’s Kevin Feige After Smash Success of Avengers: Endgame!

Dwayne “The Rock Johnson” indicated he plans to meet with Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige following the record-breaking success of Avengers: Endgame.

Johnson took to Instagram where he congratulated Marvel and Disney on their epic accomplishment, but also hinted at setting up a meeting with Feige.

As is typical with Johnson, he took the video while at the gym:

“Just taking a moment to send out a HUGE and heartfelt congratulations to the Avengers for breaking office records all around the world. I’m sorry shattering that shit all around the world and delivering the biggest movie of all time. In three days, the biggest movie of all time. That is just an incredible accomplishment. An amazing milestone. Enjoy the win.  Cast, crew, filmmakers, all of Marvel, all of Disney, I’m so incredibly impressed, and very, very proud, and happy for you guys.”

Johnson then begins listing out individual congratulations:

“The cast, all my buddies, Scarlett, Josh, my Jumanji partner in crime, Karen Gillan, I’ll see you on set tomorrow, the very unattractive Chris Hemsworth, and of course the king himself, Robert Downey Jr. Again congrats guys. Enjoy the win.”

The Rock then goes on to praise the marketing and publicity team for the press tour leading up to Avengers: Endgame before thanking Endgame directors Joe and Anthony Russo along with the top brass at Disney including Bob Iger, Alan Horn, and Sean Bailey.

He then congratulates Kevin Feige:

“And of course congratulations to the architect and the mastermind behind this whole thing, Kevin Feige. Congratulations, my friend. It’s been so cool to watch and witness and learn as I watch you and your team meticulously story tell over the years has just been really incredible. The biggest movie of all time. Holy shit! Look what you did. Look what you guys did Kevin.”

He then indicates the two have been trying to have a meeting for awhile and plan to meet up soon.

“I know our assistants have been trying to get us together for dinner for months now. We are both super busy boys and I look forward to our schedule linking up. And that’s it. Congrats guys.”

The Rock would conclude his video saying:

“The best thing about this whole thing is the fact that you have sent the audience home happy and floating with a very rare A+ Cinema Score. A+ very rare. Congratulations. I’m all about audience first. That’s the best part about this whole thing. Sending the people home happy. Avengers you did it. Congrats.”

The Russo brothers would respond writing, “Much love my man. Greatly appreciated.” Chris Hemsworth would also respond, “Your a legend mate.” And his Jumanji co-star Karen Gillan responded, “Thanks DJ!!!!!!”

While, it’s unclear what the purpose of Feige’s meeting with the Rock would be about, it’s quite possible the actor could end up joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe in one way or another. The Rock was a producer on the recent Shazam! movie, and he’s expected to produce and star in the pending Black Adam movie.

We’ve already seen multiple actors go from Marvel movies to star in DC Comics films and vice versa. In fact, Zachary Levi, originally played Fandral in [easyazon_link identifier=”B00HN1SVFU” locale=”US” tag=”boundingintocomics-20″]Thor: The Dark World[/easyazon_link] and Thor: Ragnarok before he became Shazam. Michael Keaton, who played Batman, joined the MCU as Vulture in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Ryan Reynolds would make the leap from Green Lantern to Deadpool, Ben Affleck went from Daredevil to Batman. Chris Evans actually played two Marvel characters. He went from Johnny Storm in Fantastic Four to Captain America in the MCU. Evans also starred in the DC Comics based movie The Losers.

Maybe the most relevant is Djimon Hounsou. The actor has portrayed multiple characters in DC films including the wizard Shazam as well as the Fisherman King in Aquaman. He portrayed Korath Pursuer in Captain Marvel and Guardians of the Galaxy.

Would you want to see The Rock join the MCU? Who do you think he could play?
