Wonder Woman 1984: Patty Jenkins Shares a New Image of Gal Gadot as Diana Prince

This week was Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot’s birthday and Patty Jenkins saw fit to send her special wishes via Twitter. At the same time, Jenkins gave fans anxiously awaiting Wonder Woman 1984, which unfortunately was pushed back, a new possible look at how Gadot will look as Diana in civilian wear.

In her message, Jenkins glowingly wrote of Gadot:

“Happy Birthday to my most spectacular, incredible, amazing, beautiful, loving, powerful, hilarious and awe inspiring friend and partner. I love you more than words can say. Happy Birthday Gal Gadot.”

Gadot is in white looking over a railing in a location rumored to be a shopping mall, a mall being one confirmed place in the film where Diana springs into action. The shot could be from another photo shoot entirely but one has to consider why Jenkins would waste the effort on a random, unrelated picture.

Behind-the-scenes imagery from the new movie comes in dribs and drabs. The last major crop of stills showed us Gadot in costume looking very much like Diana Prince did back in the 80s and that was months ago. We also received our first looks at Chris Pine as Steve Trevor and Kristen Wiig as Cheetah, whose origin is altered slightly from the comics. Barbara Minerva might get her powers from a talisman in a museum as opposed to an archaeological dig turning disastrous.

Wonder Woman 1984 comes to theaters in June of 2020. The film was originally slated for a November release this year but Warner Bros. made a switch last fall. This is a wise move allowing Warner to stretch its slate out so 2019 can belong to Shazam! and Joker (and to a lesser extent [easyazon_link identifier=”B07GW2ZW5K” locale=”US” tag=”boundingintocomics-20″]Aquaman[/easyazon_link], now on Blu-ray and digital). It also gives them time to make sure WW1984 is the best film it can be and places it in the summer.

What do you make of this new look at Diana Prince? What do you think she could be looking at?
