Massive Details Revealed About Disney’s The Falcon and The Winter Soldier Disney+ Show

A new report reveals some massive details about Disney’s upcoming Disney+ show The Falcon and The Winter Soldier starring Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan.

Deadline reports the six episode show will be directed by Kari Skogland. They also indicate that the series will see the return of Daniel Bruhl’s Helmut Zemo and Emily Van Camp’s Sharon Carter. The report also indicates that it will follow the events of Avengers: Endgame, which saw Captain America give Sam Wilson and brand new Captain America shield that he brought over from a separate reality.

Kari Skogland’s work can be seen in episodes of Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale, the pilot of AMC’s NOS4A2, and The Rook. She also served as executive producer and director for the upcoming Showtime limited series The Loudest Voice. She has also worked on a wide range of other television series such as Vikings, Penny Dreadful, The Americans, and The Walking Dead.

The Emmy award-winning director also directed and was the executive producer for History Channel’s Sons of Liberty.  That six-part event miniseries won her the Directors Guild of Canada award for best director of a television miniseries.

Maybe the biggest news is the fact that Van Camp and Bruhl will reportedly return for the series.

Bruhl first appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Captain America: Civil War. He plotted to pit the Avengers against each other after he blamed them for the death of his family and the destruction of most of Sokovia during the events of Avengers: Age of Ultron. His plot involved setting off an explosive that killed King T’Chaka, the leader of Wakanda.

He would eventually be captured by Black Panther and detained for his crimes.

As for Emily Van Camp, many fans have wondered about the fate of Sharon Carter since she was last seen during the events of Captain America: Civil War. The growing love story between her and Steve Rogers played a significant role in her helping the then fugitive Rogers.

With both Carter and Zemo, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier looks to be quite busy.

This miniseries is one of many currently in the works for the yet to be launched streaming service. Other confirmed shows include one surrounding Tom Hiddleston’s Loki as well as another involving Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch and Paul Bettany’s Vision titled WandaVision.

Marvel will also have a What If…? show based on the popular comic line that explores what would have happened if different moments in the MCU happened differently. It’s possible this show could pilot new realities in the Marvel Multiverse for Marvel Studios to explore.

There are other rumored shows including one following Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye as he trains Kate Bishop to replace him. There is also the rumored Hulk show, which would see Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk introduce She-Hulk into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.  Finally, there is a Lady Sif show rumored for the platform as well.

The miniseries is expected to air on Disney+ sometime in August 2020.

What do you make of the news that Emily Van Camp and Daniel Bruhl will return for this Disney+ series? Do you like the director Marvel Studios has reportedly tapped for the project? Do you plan on watching the show on Disney+?
