Xena: Warrior Princess #1 by Dave Dorman

Xena: Warrior Princess #1 debuted in September 1999. It originally retailed at $2.95. The book featured Xena, Callisto, Gabrielle, and Zeus. It was the first book in the “The Warrior Way of Death” arc.

A signed version of the cover by both Dave Dorman and actress Lucy Lawless is currently on sale for $295.00 on eBay. It has a 9.8 CGC grade. Lawless brought Xena to life in the long-lived action show that ran from September 1995 to June 2001. The show originally aired on NBC and became the top-rated syndicated drama in its second season. In fact, it was in the top five for all six years it was on air.

The Dark Horse Comics Xena: Warrior Princess series ran for 14 issues and not only included John Wagner as a writer but Ian Edginton as well. The series has been collected into three trade paperbacks. The first collected edition titled “[easyazon_link identifier=”1569714525″ locale=”US” tag=”boundingintocomics-20″]The Warrior Way of Death[/easyazon_link]” saw Xena have to choose between “dying with Gabrielle or reliving her dark past, Xena finds herself cast into Hell, where she is commanded to lure Thor into leading the war against Heaven.”
