My Hero Academia is a Japanese superhero manga created by Kohei Horikoshi. The manga has been serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump since July 2014. As of February 2019, it has been collected in 22 tankobons.

The story follows Izuku Midoriya, a boy without a quirk (superpower) in a world populated by heroes and villains. However, he is granted the One for All quirk by the greatest superhero on the planet, All Might.

In order to become the greatest superhero, Midoriya must master his quirk as he attends U.A. High School, a school for the most elite students who aim to be professional superheroes.

The success of the manga has seen the franchise rapidly expand. The series was adapted into an anime show by Studio Bones. Currently, three seasons have produced and a fourth is expected to debut in October 2019.

The series would also receive an animated film adaptation in August of 2018 with My Hero Academia: Two Heroes. There is already a second film in production and Legendary Entertainment has plans for a live-action film.

The franchise also has a number of video game adaptations. The first My Hero Academia: Vattle for All debuted on the Nintendo 3DS in Japan back in 2016.

More recently My Hero One’s Justice was released on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC in 2018. The game sold over 500,000 units as of January 2019.

Finally, Izuku Midoriya is a playable character in Jump Force.
