Today’s cosplay of the day is Veronika Black as Mortal Kombat’s Jade.
Black cosplayed Mortal Kombat’s Jade and made the reveal on Instagram stating, “Finally did my Jade Mortal Kombat photoshoot today.”

Jade first appeared in Mortal Kombat II as a secret, unplayable character. She would make her official debut in Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3.
Jade was Shao Kahn’s personal assassin, but she was also the childhood friend of Princess Kitana. When Kitana turned against Shao Khan, it was Jade who was sent to bring her in. However, she would betray Shao Kahn and join Kitana in her fight to free Outworld from his grip. She currently resides in the freed Edenia and serves as a General of the Edenian under Kitana and her mother Sindel. In Mortal Kombat 11, it was revealed that Jade is involved in a romantic relationship with Kotal Kahn.
Jade’s main weapon in her official debut in Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 was a metal staff. She also used razor-edged boomerangs called razorangs.
She still uses these weapons in the newly released Mortal Kombat 11.
Some of Jade’s iconic fatalities include Staff Shake and Staff Impale. More recently she uses Pole Dance and Bow Before Me.
Jade has been voiced by a number of voice actresses. They include Katalin Zamiar in Mortal Kombat II; Becky Gable in Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, Mortal Kombat Trilogy, and Mortal Kombat Advance; Linda Lee in Mortal Kombat 9, and Mela Lee in Mortal Kombat 11. Alexis Gaube provided the model for Jade’s look in Mortal Kombat 11.
Jade has appeared outside the video games. The character was portrayed by Irina Pantaeva in Mortal Kombat: Annihilation. Unlike her storyline in the game, Jade remains loyal to Shao Kahn in the film. In fact, Jade is killed by Shao Kahn for allowing Liu Kang and the Earth Warriors to escape.
