Cosplay of the Day: Allie as Fate Apocrypha’s Mordred

Today’s cosplay of the day is Allie as Fate Apocrypha’s Saber of Red aka Mordred, the servant of Kairi Sisgou.

Take a look.

Saber of Red aka Mordred was summoned by Kairi Sisgou during the Great Holy Grail War in Fate/Apocrypha.

In Fate/Apocrypha Mordred is actually female. In life, she was the product of Morgan le Fay’s tampering and Merlin’s magecraft. Morgan le Fay uses a spell to extract Artoria’s sperm and create a child using her ovary. Mordred is thus born as a homunculus and has an increased growth period.

She would eventually join the Knights of the Round Table. However, once Artoria left on an expedition to Rome, Mordred would lead a rebellion and claim she was the only one fit for the throne.

When Artoria returned, the two would fight in single combat. Artoria would slay Mordred as she recklessly charged her. However, even in the throes of death she would swing her word fatally wounding Artoria.

Mordred would play a key role in Fate/Apocrypha fighting a number of the Black Factions servants including Assassin of Black aka Jack the Ripper and Archer of Black aka Chiron, Rider of Black aka Astolfo, the homunculus named Sieg, Berserker of Black aka Frankenstein, Saber of Black aka Siegfried.

She eventually allies with the Black faction of Yggdmillennia upon discovering Shirou Kotomine’s wish for the Holy Grail.

In the final battle, Mordred takes on Assassin of Red aka Semiramis in the Hanging Gardens. While, she is able to defeat Semiramis, it’s not before Semiramis’ poisons mortally wound her master Kairi. With Kairi dead, Mordred fades away.

Mordred also appears in the Fate/Grand Order game as a summonable servant for Ritsuka Fujimaru.
