First Look: Joshua Orpin as Superboy in DC Universe’s Titans Season 2

A set photo from DC Universe’s Titans Season 2 has given us our first look at actor Joshua Orpin as Superboy.

Take a look.

The photo was shared by Lance Ausfresser into the DC Universe Titans Facebook group. As you can see it shows Orpin wearing a simple black shirt with the iconic House of El symbol on his chest. He appears to be wearing blue cargo pants.

Superboy was teased in a post-credit scene following the first season of DC Universe’s Titans. In the scene you see a naked man breaking out of a medical facility. After the man appears to choke out one of the scientists, he enters into a room where a dog whose eyes light up red is being kept.

Superboy or Connor Kent first appeared in The Adventures of Superman #500 and was created by Karl Kesel and Tom Grummett.

He was created as part of Project Cadmus to be a duplicate of Superman following the Kryptonian’s death at the hands of Doomsday. However, Connor was a Kryptonian/human hybrid using the DNA of Superman and Lex Luthor. He would also be brought out of the maturation process early. Instead of matching Superman’s age at his death, Connor emerged as a teenager.

He would become a founding member of Young Justice after teaming up with Robin and Impulse to defeat Bedlam who had transported the world’s adult population to a copy of Earth. He would later join the Teen Titans and begin to exhibit Superman-like powers such as heat vision while on the team.

Titans Season 2 will not only feature Superboy, but the show also added Game of Thrones veteran Iain Glen who will be playing Batman. He will be joined by Esai Morales as Deathstroke, Chella Man as Deathstroke’s son Jericho, Chelsea T. Zhang as Rose Wilson aka Ravager, and Drew Van Acker as Aqualad.

They will join the cast from the first season which includes Brenton Thwaites as Dick Grayson, Anna Diop as Starfire, Teagan Croft as Raven, Ryan Potter as Beast Boy, Alan Ritchson as Hawk, and Minka Kelly as Dove.

The show ended Season 1 with Dick Grayson hunting down a murderous Batman in an illusion created by Raven’s father Trigon.

What do you make of Joshua Orpin as Superboy? Do you like the costume design?
