Alleged Leak Spoils Spider-Man: Far From Home Post-Credit Scenes!

An alleged leak claims to provide specific details about the post credit scenes for Marvel Studios and Sony’s upcoming Spider-Man: Far From Home.

The leak comes from Reddit user RoyG575 who posted to the Marvel StudiosSpoilers subreddit.

Roy claims they are a special effects artist for Disney and worked with them on a number of films including Spider-Man: Far From Home. In fact, Roy claims they helped edit the visual effects for the mid-credits scene. They go on to note that like most Marvel Studios films there is a mid-credits scene and a post-credits scene.

Here’s what Roy says happens in the mid-credit scene:

The mid-credit scene starts off in a dark room, with chilling and villainous music. A defeated and sad looking Mysterio looks out the window from a skyscraper at night time. The view of the shot is within the building looking outwards, so you can’t see the building itself.

A voice is heard in the background (which sounds Russian), which says something like “He beat us once, but soon he is going to pay”. Mysterio turns around and the voice is revealed to be from the Chameleon in his costume. Mysterio then says “Dimitri, thanks for having my back out there”. Chameleon replies with “don’t worry, there are more of us”. Right then, the music gets darker while the Vulture (similar outfit as homecoming with a few modifications), Scorpion (Outfit similar to comics but few differences), Shocker (Different outfit than homecoming, it looks like the red and yellow suit from comics), and a man in a business suit walk in from another room.

The businessman gathers the villains together and says “I have a proposal”. The camera pans out to the outside of the building, which is the old Stark/Avengers tower which has the name “OSCORP” in large green font, at the same spot the Stark logo was, and shows it for a few seconds. The scene ends here. It was about 45 seconds but I have only seen the whole clip twice. I couldn’t tell if the businessman was Norman Osborn, or if he was simply an assistant, and I didn’t know the actor playing him (I don’t know much about Actors, he was probably a B-lister). This scene obviously sets up the Sinister Six which will probably be further explored in the MCU. I wasn’t shown the whole clip until it was all done.

Roy would add:

“The business guy’s face is only shown quickly while the room is dark so I couldn’t tell who he was. Plus I’m not too familiar with a lot of actors, so I didn’t know his name as the studio is trying to keep it under wraps. My comment about him probably being a B lister was just a way of saying I didn’t know his name. He could just as well be an A lister that I don’t know. From what I saw, he was white, looks like in his late 40’s early 50’s, dark brown short hair, and looked pretty tall maybe around 6 feet.”

It definitely appears that Marvel Studios and Sony are teasing the Sinister Six and the arrival of Norman Osborn. The Sinister Six has seen a number of incarnations in the comics. The original team consisted of Electro, Mysterio, Vulture, Doctor Octopus, Kraven, and Sandman. Norman Osborn as the Green Goblin would not take over the team until the sixth incarnation where he would become the leader. And that team actually consisted of 12 members that included Boomerang, Chameleon, Electro, Hammerhead, Hydro-Man, Lizard, Sandman, Shocker, Tombstone, Venom, and Vulture.

As for the post-credit scene, Roy doesn’t provide many details. They do note, “I haven’t directly seen the post-credits scene, but another artist told me it was something comedic with Happy and Peter, which has an insignificant impact on the overall story arc.”

BuzzFeed writer Michael Blackmon, who claims to have seen the film, indicates “the post-credits scene will make fans of the original Tobey MaGuire movies nostalgic.

That’s not much to go on. CosmicBookNews theorizes it could further dive into the Marvel Multiverse with a reference to the Tobey Maguire universe. They also theorize that “the movie may feature another alternate Spider-Man.”

Former Sony executive Amy Pascal, who helped make the Spider-Man deal with Marvel Studios a reality recently spoke with Italian website Bad Taste about the possibility of a Tobey Maguire crossover.

Pascal told them, “There are [possibilities]. Everything is possible.” She added, ” It would be very interesting.”

Interestingly enough Tom Holland did an interview with Jake Hamilton where he seemingly hints at the possibility of an Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire version of Spider-Man being included in the Marvel Multiverse.

Holland would state, “Of course I would love to make a movie with those guys. It would be so cool. It would be amazing. It would be really, really cool. And it’s something the fans really want. Whether or not Marvel or Sony want to do that, it’s up to them.” He added, “It would be really awesome.”

As for what would make me nostalgic about the Tobey Maguire films would be the return of Alfred Molina as Doc Ock. If it does embrace the Marvel Multiverse it’s a possibility and could also tie into the alleged Sinister Six mid-credit tease.

However, Doc Ock would probably have to come from a different universe than the Tobey Maguire films. Molina’s Doc Ock died at the end of Spider-Man 2.

Although it could be an interesting way to introduce Superior Spider-Man.

What do you make of this alleged post-credit scene leak? Do you like this line-up for the Sinister Six? What do you think the post-credit scene could be hinting at?
