Cosplay of the Day: Corneline as The Witcher’s Yennefer

Today’s cosplay of the day is Corneline as The Witcher’s Yennefer.

Yennefer of Vengerberg is the true love of the Witcher Geralt of Rivia and a mother figure to Ciri. She was also an advisor to King Demavend of Aedirn although not a formal royal advisor.

While Yennefer is viewed as a stunning beauty, that wasn’t always the case. In fact, she was born a hunchback and also had elven blood on her mother’s side. Due to her deformity and her elven blood, her father physically and mentally abused her before leaving both her and her mother. After her father left, her mother also began to abuse her. After becoming a student at Aretuza, Yennefer’s physical deformities were corrected with magic within her first year.
Yennefer is prominently portrayed in CD Projekt Red’s The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. She appears in the opening cinematic and flees the middle of a battle as Nilfgaard continues their conquest of the North.
She would eventually meet up with Geralt and take him to meet Emperor Emhyr var Emreis, who informs him that Ciri has returned to the world the Wild Hunt are attempting to capture her. The two would split up in an attempt to use conventional means to locate Cici. Yennefer would depart for Velen and Novigrad and eventually head to Skellige, where she would reunite with Geralt. The two would continue their search for Ciri throughout Skellige tracking down mages and witches for any clues to her whereabouts.
Yennefer is voiced by Denise Gough in [easyazon_link identifier=”B07SH3D6HT” locale=”US” tag=”boundingintocomics-20″]The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt[/easyazon_link]. She will be portrayed by Anya Chalotra in the upcoming Netflix series, and was previously portrayed by Grażyna Wolszczak in the 2001 film adaptation.
