Power Rangers To Be Rebooted Yet Again, New Movie Cast

In Reddit’s AMA chat, Netflix’s Stanger Things Star Dacre Montgomery, who played the Red Ranger in the 2017 Power Rangers Movie, confirmed that Hasbro has decided to wipe the slate clean. They are not bringing back the cast for another installment.
A fan asked the actor bluntly if fans were going to get another Power Rangers movie. Montgomery replied with two points. Yes, he believes another movie is in the works, but it won’t have the same cast as the 2017 adaptation.
I think there is a movie in the works but it’s not with me and the cast. So yes but not with us
So if Dacre Montgomery is correct, then the only logical way we will see another Power Rangers movie is if the franchise reboots the film yet again.
Haim Saban Sold Power Rangers Franchise to Hasbro
The movie that was released in 2017 was not a success at all. Pulling in only 140 million dollars at the box office, its low performance caused the original owner, Haim Saban, to sell the franchise. Hasbro now owns the entire brand.
Currently, we know that the toy company is planning the reboot with Paramount Pictures. Though a date for the start of production has yet to be decided.
Though the Lionsgate film in 2017 had some good responses from audiences, it failed to meet critical expectations. It currently holds a 50% in the Tomatometer compared to an Audience Score of 65%.
So, the post-credits scene of the 2017 movie that hinted at the introduction of the sixth member, the green ranger, is most likely on ice. In the scene, we see Tommy Oliver’s name called, which then a pan to an empty desk that only holds a green jacket. Before it ends there’s an explosion knocking a door off its hinges.

Following the storyline of the original TV show, Lionsgate also planned on introducing Lord Zedd, who is one of the franchise’s more popular villains.
Hasbro’s partnership with Paramount isn’t new either. The companies worked together on both the G.I. Joe movies as well as the Transformers franchise and Hasbro is the owner of both.
Hasbro Reboot to Focus on Toys
As Hasbro reboots the film, we can expect the company to focus, and invest heavily, on the toy side of the production. Since Hasbro is a toy company, that is to be expected and the 2017 Power Rangers film didn’t focus on that area.
