Rumor: Black Mask in Birds of Prey to Depart from Comics

The internet is an amazing place to find rumors about movies being made and  Birds of Prey is no exception. But this rumor, if true, would cast a whole new light on what the Birds of Prey film plot could be.

According to sources speaking to the host of Beyond The Trailer, Grace Randolph, rumors have it that Birds of Prey will not only have elements of pedophilia in the plot, but Black Mask will have a major character change from the source material which would see him as “flamboyantly gay.”

The rumor claims that a young girl in the movie will swallow nude photographs of the villain as a means to hide the evidence.

You read that correctly. It seems that the plot of Birds of Prey will see Ewan McGregor’s Black Mask attempt to murder Cassandra Cain so that he can retrieve his pornographic photos which are hidden inside of a diamond.

Somehow this will bring Harley Quinn, Huntress, and Black Canary to the rescue of the young girl as Black Mask goes after her.

Major Change to Black Mask

But that’s not everything. There will be a major change in how the movie will treat and explore the character of Black Mask played by Ewan McGregor. The source claims that the character will be gay which is a departure from the comics, but he will be “flamboyantly gay.” Which, without context, is quite cringy, to say the least.

Especially with the issues, Hollywood has longed facing its own internal treatment of sexual abuse cases involving children.

At the beginning of the month Actress and former Disney star, Bella Thorne sent shockwaves with her claim of sexual abuse from the age of six to 14 while under the employment of Disney. She even went so far as to claim that those around her knew of the abuse, but did nothing.

Then you have two years ago, 80s star Corey Feldman opened up about Hollywood’s problem with pedophilia within the industry. This was seemingly confirmed by former Lord of the Rings actor Elijah Wood.

Then you have the case on the set of the movie The Predator last year. There was a register sex offender on set without the cast’s knowledge. 20th Century Fox pulled the scene involving the person.
