Twitch Streamer Alinity Accused of Animal Abuse After Tossing Cat During Livestream

Scandals are nothing new to the gaming world, but the latest one featuring Twitch streamer Alinity, has a ton of twists and turns that sees her accused of animal abuse.

Alinity is not new to controversy. From bogus copyright strikes to Pewdiepie, to countless NSFW moments on stream, she keeps people talking.

Her latest controversy involves accusations of animal abuse from fellow streamer Ian Miles Cheong. Cheong took to Twitter to post a clip of Alinity picking up her cat and tossing it over her head during a stream of Apex Legends. Cheong states, “Alinity is an animal abuser. You okay with this Twitch Support?” He would also tag in PETA.

He would follow that up with another video of Alinity feeding one of her cats vodka. He stated, “Alinity also spit vodka into her cat’s mouth. This is clear animal abuse.”

Ricky Gervais would even chime in writing, “So many stupid people in the world.”

PETA would weigh in a few hours later telling Twitch Support to “take a stand for cats & please remove Alinity from Twitch immediately. She is using the platform to post animal abuse, which sends a dangerous message to anyone watching her videos. Cats are not props to abuse for more views.”

A YouTube video from user Asure would surface showing Alinity kicking her dog and shouting, “No” after the dog began following one of her cats.

Alinity responded to the accusations of animal abuse via Twitter and apologized her “lapses in judgement.”

Despite the apology, Director of Creator Development at Twitch indicated he wanted to see Alinity banned and laid out that he would ban her “for at least 30 days.”

Jasmine Hanson, a communications co-ordinator for the Saskatoon SPCA told 650 CKOM that they were attempting to locate Alinity. Hanson stated, “Right now, we’re just trying to identify the individual and locate her address. The reason this is so important is because if we want to investigate the situation, we obviously have to identify the person, and usually a social media profile isn’t enough to go on.

Alinity responded to the Saksatoon SPCA indicating that she called them “to come check these guys and the home out to clear up complaints.” She indicated they would arrive for a home inspection in a “a couple days.”

YouTuber It’sAGundam reported that Alinity had spoken to Twitch and noted she would not get banned. However, she also indicated that people who “have been harassing” her might get banned. He also noted that a number of individuals did get banned/suspended for talking to Twitch staff about Alinity.

There’s been speculation for a long time that certain Twitch partners enjoy a much wider margin for error when it comes to discipline, possibly even “immunity” for some. YouTuber KeemStar indicated that Alinity has “dirt” on the Twitch staff, but he plans on releasing it.

Alinity responded writing, “So now you’re completely making things up? This is low dude.”

Do you think Alinity should get banned by Twitch? Do you think there is a double standard at Twitch?
