Star Wars Fans Choose Han Solo and Chewbacca as Favorite Best Friends Over Disney’s New Sequel Characters

Star Wars fans chose Han Solo and Chewbacca as their favorite best friends in the Star Wars universe over Disney’s new sequel characters by a wide margin.

The fans expressed their opinion on a Twitter poll conducted by the official Star Wars account on Twitter.

Out of 44,728 votes, Han Solo and Chewbacca received 64% of the votes. That’s 28,625 votes. In second place, Star Wars fans picked R2-D2 and C-3PO. They had 28% of the votes. That’s 12,523 votes. The other two options, both from Disney’s new Star Wars films, were way behind. BB-8 and Poe Dameron only received 5% of the votes. That’s only 2,236 votes. Finally, Rey and Finn only received 4% of the votes. That’s only 1,789 votes.

A number of fans including JosiahRises were quick to point out that the original Star Wars characters easily trounced the new Disney versions.

One fans even suggested Rey and Finn be replaced by Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker. While others expressed they were voting for Anakin and Obi-wan.

There were also a number of other suggestions including Baze Malbus and Chirrut Imwe from Rogue One, Ahsoka Tano and Captain Rex from The Clone Wars animated series, and K2-SO and Cassian Andor.

I’m personally surprised there weren’t more people suggesting Luke and Han Solo or even Han Solo and Lando Calrissian. What’s a friendship without a little bit of a betrayal and then a massive reconciliation and redemption?
