Tom Holland Teases New TV Show – Could It Be Spider-Man Related?

Spider-Man actor Tom Holland recently teased he would be starring in an upcoming television show, sparking possibilities that it could be Spider-Man focused.

Holland sat down with GQ where he allegedly went undercover online. Holland teased the upcoming TV show when one fan wrote, “I hope one day Tom Holland would have his own tv show because that would be AMAZING.” Holland responded, “Well, you might not have to wait that long…”

And now the internet is set on fire with speculation about what the future for Tom Holland’s Spider-Man could look like. I’ve been looking up and down his IMDB page, and no future television series works are listed. However, that doesn’t mean one isn’t around the corner.

Disney and Spider-Man

Disney is currently developing their animated What If television series for Disney+ from Marvel Studios. The series will feature 23 episodes, with each episode changing a major plot point in one of Marvel Studios’ films. Cinemablend reports, “Each episode will focus on a specific Marvel film, and flip the previously known plot of it in one key way.”

As I reported from D23, Disney teased a couple of the episodes for the What If show. The trailer showcased Steve Rogers becoming Iron Man, Peggy Carter becoming Captain America, Bucky Barnes as The Winter Soldier carrying Cap’s shield, and a zombie Captain America.

It’s quite possible Holland will be reprising his role as Peter Parker and Spider-Man in the episodes changing the plots of Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far From Home.

Disney did reveal a number of the MCU actors would be reprising their roles in the What If? series. However, Holland’s name was not listed.

But a rumor from Mikey Sutton indicates that Holland will reprise his role and provide the voice work for Spidey for the What If? series.

Sutton writes on Facebook:

“Spider-Man is STILL in the “What If” animated TV series on Disney+ from Marvel Studios. Like I wrote here days ago, Disney owns the TV rights to Spider-Man, and this will cause problems for Sony, who want to launch TV programs based on the Spider-Verse. Not only that, but I’m hearing that Tom Holland is going to voice Spidey for Disney+.”

It’s possible this could be the TV show Holland is teasing in the GQ video. However, it’s possible it could be a completely different project.

Holland’s turn as Spider-Man has turned him into a hot commodity in Hollywood. He’s got multiple movies in post-production including Chaos Walking, The Devil All The Time, and The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle. He’s also got a number of films in pre-production including the Uncharted adaptation and Cherry. He’s currently filming Onward.

Would you want to see Tom Holland reprise his role as Spider-Man in a possible Disney+ show?
