Viz Media announced their first original anime series Seis Manos’s release date.

Seis Manos will release globally on Netflix on October 3rd.

Here’s the official description for the series:

“Set in Mexico in the 1970’s, SEIS MANOS centers on three orphaned martial arts warriors who join forces with a DEA agent and a Mexican Federale to battle for justice after their beloved mentor is murdered in their tiny border town.”

Viz Media gave us a first look at the anime series back in July.

And here’s a look at the opening sequence.

The series will be eight episodes in total and will premiere in both English and Spanish. The voice cast includes Luke Cage’s Mike Colter as Brister, Aislinn Derbez as Isabela, Overwatch’s Jonny Cruz as Jesus, Angelica Vale as Garcia, Mortal Kombat’s Vic Chao as Chiu, and Danny Trejo as El Balde.

The series is a co-production  between Viz Media and Powerhouse Animation Studios. Powerhouse Animation Studios is the company behind Netlix’s Castlevania, Agents of Mayhem, and Metal Wolf Chaos. The series was co-created by Brad Graeber and writer Alvaro Rodriguez. Writer Daniel Dominguez also contributed to writing the series. It’s directed by Willis Bulliner.

“SEIS MANOS offers the very best in storytelling and action, with an incredible voice cast and a unique Latin American storyline rarely seen in animation,” says Brad Woods, Chief Marketing Officer, VIZ Media. “We’re thrilled to partner with Netflix and Powerhouse to share this incredible new series with fans.”
