Ad Astra Actor Brad Pitt: “President Trump Represents a Much Bigger Threat on Such More Serious Issues”

Ad Astra and Once Upon A Time in Hollywood actor Brad Pitt declared that President Donald Trump is a “much bigger threat on such more serious issues” in a recent interview.

While promoting Ad Astra in an interview with the French paper Journal du Dimanche, Pitt was asked about President Trump’s proposed new tariffs on French wine. Trump had hinted at the possibility of imposing tariffs on French wine in retaliation for the French taxing American companies.

Trump: “I’ve always liked American wines better than French wines. Even though I don’t drink wine. I just like the way they look.”

Pitt, who co-owns the French vineyard Chateau Miraval with his ex-wife Angelina Jolie responded, “I do not know.” He added he didn’t “know enough” about the issue. He continued, “I think we will always drink rosé in the United States. If there is a threat to the winemakers, it is a real concern.”

According to a translation by People, Pitt would then state, “Unfortunately, it’s almost anecdotal. Trump represents a much bigger threat on such more serious issues.” Pitt did not elaborate on which issues he was alluding to.

Brad Pitt has had issues with President Trump in the past. Back in 2016, the actor spoke to the New York Times about the Brexit results, “Man, I never thought that would happen.” He then compared it to President Trump’s election saying, “Same way I can’t bring myself to think that Trump will be in charge. In the simplest terms, what brings us together is good, and what separates us is bad.” Pitt would add, “Coming from Oklahoma, southern Missouri, which leans more toward a Trump voice, I try to understand it.” He continued, “It seems that the people who suffer the most end up betting for the party that would hurt them. And so I try to understand where they’re coming from.”

Pitt will be busy for the foreseeable future with him reprising his role in World War Z 2. He’s also rumored to be in a movie called Babylon. He’s also producing a bevy of films including Blonde, Irresistible, Kajillionaire, Wrong Answer, Like a Stone, and The Underground Railroad.
