Fate/Grand Order Babylonia Anime Adaptation Total Episode Count Announced

Popular anime mobile game Fate/Grand Order will see its seventh Singularity, Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia, adapted into a 21 episode long anime that will run for two cours.

A trailer was also released, but appears to have a country restriction placed on it.

According to Crunchyroll, the news was announced at a pre-screening event in Japan. During the event they indicated the show will run through March 2020.

The series will follow the last surviving Master Mash Kyrielight as they travel back to Babylon during the time of the gods. (Related: Fate/Grand Order Changes Emiya (Alter)’s Appearance for North American Release of Epic of Remnant)

Not only did they announce that the show would have 21 episodes in total, but they also revealed the Blu-ray and DVD versions would have five volumes with the first one releasing on January 29, 2020. Subsequent volumes will be released every month with the fifth volume coming out in May 2020.

During the show’s premiere a special bonus titled “Just Before the Rayshift Special” will air for viewers on AbemaTV. This special will feature voice actors Nobunaga Shimazaki, Ayako Kawasumi, Yu Kobayashi, and Minami Tanaka.

The series is directed by Toshifumi Akai with character design by Tomoaki Takase. The show is produced by CloverWorks.

The cast includes Nobunaga Shimazaki as Ritsuka Fujimaru, Rie Takahashi as Mash Kyrielight, Ayako Kawasumi as Fou, Skamoto Maaya as Leonardo da Vinci, Tomokazu Seki as Gilgamesh, Yuu Asakawa as Ana, Yu Kobayashi as Enkidu, and Kana Ueda as Ishtar.

The prologue of Fate/Grand Order was previously adapted into an anime film and originally aired beginning in December of 2016.

The mobile game and a subsequent arcade game released by Sega reportedly grossed over $3.4 billion between August 2015 and December 2018.
