Marvel’s Avengers Director Joss Whedon Calls for Twitter to Ban Donald Trump

Marvel Studios’ The Avengers director Joss Whedon took to Twitter to call for the social media company to ban President Donald Trump from their platform.

Whedon took to Twitter where he wrote, “Can I just add to this crucial thread that in the interests of national security he should be immediately banned from Twitter?” He added, “#TakeTrumpOffTwitter.”

Whedon was actually suspended from Twitter in April 2018 for calling on President Donald Trump to die. (Related: Avengers Director Joss Whedon Calls for the Death Of President Trump)

In a now deleted tweet the Hollywood director wrote:

“Donald trump is killing this country. Some of it quickly, some slowly, but he spoils and destroys everything he touches. He emboldens monsters, wielding guns, governmental power, or just smug doublespeak. Or Russia. My hate and sadness are exhausting. Die, Don. Just quietly die.”

More recently he declared that President Donald Trump is a “racist, fascist president.” (Related: Avengers and Justice League Director Joss Whedon: “We Have A Racist, Fascist President”)

He would also accuse Ivanka Trump of legitimizing Donald Trump and declared that she’s “from a crime family, she married into a crime family.” He added, “She will do as much damage as she can get away with.” (Related: The Avengers Director Joss Whedon Backs Up Samantha Bee – Targets Ivanka and Melania Trump)

Whedon’s ex-wife Kai Cole accused Whedon of being a “hypocrite, preaching feminist ideals.”  She would go on to say that she wanted “to let women know that he is not who he pretends to be. I want the people who worship him to know he is human, and the organizations giving him awards for his feminist work, to think twice in the future about honoring a man who does not practice what he preaches.”

Whedon will have a new sci-fi drama coming to HBO in 2020 called The Nevers. The project was described by Variety as a “sci-fi epic about a gang of Victorian women who find themselves with unusual abilities, relentless enemies, and a mission that might change the world.” (Related: HBO Picks Up Joss Whedon’s New Science-Fiction Drama ‘The Nevers’)

He’s also working on a Buffy the Vampire reboot. Although there is no time frame on that project. Fox Television co-chairman Gary Newman stated, “There’s actually no script to see. We’ve sat down with creators and had conversations with them about it. It’s a very exciting prospect. It’s fairly early.” (Related: Buffy The Vampire Slayer Reboot in The Works from Joss Whedon)

Whedon is also rumored to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and direct a possible X-Men film. (Related: Rumor: Joss Whedon to Direct X-Men Film for Marvel Cinematic Universe)
