Food Wars! The Fourth Plate Premiere Date Announced

Crunchyroll announced the premiere date for Food Wars! The Fourth Plate as Yukihira Soma continues to take on the Central Gourmet in the Régiment du Cuisine.

The show will arrive on the streaming service on Friday, October 11th at 9:30 AM PT. It will be available to stream in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, and the Middle East.

Here’s the official synopsis for the show:

“Shokugeki no Soma centers on Yukihira Soma, a middle school student who is determined to surpass his father’s culinary skills. One day, his father decides to close down their family restaurant and hone his skills in Europe. Before leaving he enrolls Soma in an elite culinary school that is extremely difficult to enter with a graduation rate of only 10 percent. Will Soma be able to improve his skills, or will the kitchen prove to be too hot?”

An official synopsis for the first episode has also been announced:

“Régiment du Cuisine with the Central Gourmet organization lead by Azami Nakiri continues. The 1st BOUT was won by the Soma and the rebels! To keep the momentum going and secure more wins, the rebels place Kuga, Mimasaka and Megishima as their next cards. Central on the other hand, sends in First seat; Tsukasa, Second seat; Rindo and Fourth seat; Saito. With the best members of both team, 2nd BOUT is bound to throw off some sparks!”

 

The show stars Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Soma Tukihira, Hisako Kanemoto as Erina Nakiri, and Minami Takahashi as Megumi Tadokoro. It is directed by Yoshitomo Yonetani with series composition by Shogo Yasukawa. Music is done by Tatsuya Katō. Character designs are done by Tomoyuki Shitaya. The art director is Kōichirō Bizen. The show is produced by J.C. STAFF.

The series is adapted from the manga Food Wars!: Shokugeki No Soma which began serialization in 2012. The manga was created by Yuto Tsukuda with art by Shun Saeki and contribution by Yuki Morisaki.  The 35th tankobon was released back in June. Crunchyroll reports the series’ total print run had reached 15 million copies by July 2018.
