British Paper The Independent Pushes Idea That Guardians of the Galaxy Star Chris Pratt Is Sexist After Joke About Wife’s Cooking

British newspaper and website The Independent pushed the idea that Chris Pratt is sexist after he joked about his wife Katherine Schwarzenegger’s cooking on Instagram.

The Independent’s Chelsea Ritschel wrote an article titled, “Chris Pratt called sexist after mocking wife’s cooking: ‘Proud of my darling for trying to cook tonight.’

The article comes after Pratt took to Instagram to share a photo of a burned bagel. He wrote on Instagram, “Proud of my darling for trying to cook tonight. Did it go well? No. No it did not. Not at all. ”

He added, “To quote Rocky Balboa, “It’s not how many times you get knocked down, it’s how many times you get up… and keep moving forward.””

Pratt continued, “As you can tell from the lump of coal in the center of the plate, this bagel bite never stood a chance. I honestly simply cannot imagine what went wrong here. Pretty simple. Microwave. 2 minutes. Maybe she thought it said 2 hours. But I want to commend her for her effort. This is a big step babe. Proud of you.”

Pratt’s newly wed wife Katherine Schwarzenegger responded, “Looks like my plan to just have you do the cooking is working out very well.”

Ritschel took this playful banter between the newlywed couple and attempted to spin it into a smear against Pratt. She does not include Katherine Schwarzenegger’s response in her article, but instead attempts to use six Twitter users to push the idea that Pratt is somehow sexist for making a joke about a burned bagel.

To make matters worse for Ritschel is the fact that none of the tweets she included in the article actually use the word “sexist.” Some suggest Pratt learn to cook, and one user does refer to Pratt as an ass, but none of them actually call him sexist.

But even if The Independent was being genuine and thought Pratt was getting backlash for his joke, they should look at their own tweet which stands at a total of 82 likes to 544 comments at the time of writing. That is one heck of a ratio.
