However, after challenging Splinter to combat and losing to him, she is chosen to become his new chunin within the Clan. She becomes an ally to the Turtles and even develops a romantic relationship with Casey Jones.

After an encounter with Karai, who attempts to bring Jennika back into the fold of the Foot Clan, she is mortally wounded. The Turtles and their allies in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #95 attempt to heal her with the ooze that created the Turtles. However, they are ambushed by Metalhead, who destroys the ooze.

After defeating Metalhead, Leonardo provides Jennika with a blood transfusion. It ends up saving her life, but she is also transformed into a turtle.

Now, Jennika will be getting her own miniseries from writer and artist Brahm Revel.

According to a press release from IDW, this miniseries “finds Jennika still trying to acclimate to life as a mutant. Drawn into conflict with a never-before-seen villain, she embarks on a journey that forces her to face her troubled past and conflicted present!”

Revel commented on where he plans to take Jennika in the miniseries:

“Jennika has always been a fascinating character, and her story is now moving in directions none of us could have ever anticipated.”

He added:

“I’m very excited about the opportunity to revisit Jenn’s past and explore how she’s been handling the recent changes in her life, all while being tested by a world that’s changing just as rapidly as she is.”
