J.J. Abrams Admits Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Script Was On Sale on Ebay!

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker director J.J. Abrams admitted the script for the film was on sale on eBay.

In an interview with Disney-owned Good Morning America, Abrams confirmed that not only the script was for sale on eBay, but that he had completed the film.

Abrams was asked if the film was done and he responded:

“Just. Yesterday. It’s done. It’s done. So, now people have to see it.”

He then explained why the the film was doing reshoots through October.

“This happened last time as well. You see something, you think, ‘Oh! you know what that could be a little clearer, that could be a little bit better. If you have the ability to fix the piece you take advantage of that.”

After showing off a brief clip of Stroomtroopers flying through the air on jetpacks, Abrams then details how a script ended up for sale on eBay.

“The actors knew. The security is insane. They were really nervous about anything getting out. They only had a handful of scripts and they were printed on crazy uncopiable paper. And then one of our actors, I’m not going to say which one I want to, but I won’t, left it under their bed. And it was found by someone who was cleaning their place.”

Abrams continues, “It was given to someone else, who then went to sell it on eBay.”

He then notes someone at “the company” discovered the script for sale on eBay and they were able to get it back.

“Someone at the company said you know there is a script that looks like it’s a legit script for sale on eBay. And they got it back before it sold. With all of the security you’ve got to be careful.”
