Men in Black Star Emma Thompson Predicts Climate Crisis Will Force People To Eat Their Pets

Men in Black star Emma Thompson took to the streets of London to speak at an Extinction Rebellion protest where she predicted an impending climate crisis will force individuals to eat their pets.

As reported by the Evening Standard, Thompson gave the following weather forecast:

“And now Earth lovers to the weather. Hello and welcome to the Extinction Rebellion Extreme Weather Warning.  For those of you expecting a habitable future, we’ve got some pretty gloomy projections for you.

Climate crisis trends show an increased chance of warmer, wetter winters and hotter, dryer summers, along with an increase of frequency and intensity of extremes.

Better wrap up warm, stockpile food, and remember there is a surprising amount of food in the average household pet.

Looking ahead we are on course to sail past our 1.5 degree centigrade target putting us on track for long lasting and irreversible change.”

The Evening Standard also reports Thompson added:

“General consensus does suggest there is an imminent crisis forecast, but not for politicians who seem to think this moist and fertile rain is ideal for growing an economy.”

She continued, “As we move across the country, with severe flood warnings showing almost everywhere, and a thick fog covering Westminster, it is an uneasy picture.”

Thompson also warned:

“Expect crop failures, water contamination, damaged houses and ruined lives, and we will see these persistent weather fronts continue to wreck havoc across the nation, albeit with one or two days of dry and settled weather.”

She also predicted the impact it would have on London.

“Taking a closer look at London we see that 23 underground stations are at significant risk of flooding, with 57 at high risk.”

She concluded her forecast saying:

“Looking at the edges, we can see an estimated 3,000 kilometres of our coastline receding, although that is great news for the Tory heartlands, which will soon be expecting sea views encroaching across the hills.

All the signs are telling us to act now, but as our chief adviser King Canute once said, never let a rising tide get in the way of a good election.”

Thompson also compared the her predicted climate crisis to a burning house.

She says:

“If anyone says to you from any party, ‘We’ve got to do this gently,’ just say them, ‘Do you acknowledge this is a crisis?’ Like you know your house is on fire? What do you do in a crisis? Do you try and solve it slowly? If your house is on fire do you try and put it out slowly? No, you do it as fast as you can.”

Emma Thompson is no stranger to climate activism and protesting. Back in 2015 she joined a group of protestors who brought a giant mechanical polar bear to the headquarters of energy company Shell.

In a video back in April, Thompson describes herself as a climate change activist and that she has been one for decades.

She described the climate change argument as a “race between conscious and cataclysm.”

What do you make of Thompson’s prediction?
