In a recent update to the series official website, the premiere date for the second season of the isekai anime Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- has been announced as April 2020.

The series’ second season was first announced earlier this year at Anime Japan 2019, alongside a teaser trailer:

According to the update, the main cast and staff are slated to return for the second season. Prior to the season premiere a new edit of the first season will premiere on January 1st.

This new cut will add new footage and edit the series to fit into a one-hour time slot. A new key visual for this new cut was also released alongside this announcement:

Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- Season 2 April 2020 Release Date Officially Announced

A new original video anime (OVA), Re:Zero Hyōketsu no Kizuna, recently began a theatrical run in theaters on November 8th.

This OVA adapts the meeting of Emilia and Puck as depicted in the Hajimeru Zenjitsu-tan: Hyōketsu no Kizuna prequel novel, which was previously released as a bonus included in the first Japanese Blu-ray disc release of the anime series.
