Thanos Creator Jim Starlin Felt “Violated” After Seeing Most Recent Donald Trump Ad

Thanos creator Jim Starlin expressed that he felt “violated” after seeing the most recent Donald Trump campaign ad that portrays the President as Thanos.

Starlin wrote on Facebook:

“After my initial feeling of being violated, seeing that pompous dang fool using my creation to stroke his infantile ego, it finally struck me that the leader of my country and the free world actually enjoys comparing himself to a mass murderer.”

Starlin added, “How sick is that? These are sad and strange times we are going through. Fortunately all things, even national nightmares, eventually come to an end.”

The campaign ad depicts President Donald Trump as Thanos saying, “I am inevitable.” He then snaps his fingers.

The video cuts to Nancy Pelosi reading a speech. She says, “On this solemn day, I recall that the first order of business the members of Congress…”

Before she can finish her speech she is snapped out of existence.

Starlin was not the only comic book creator to express their feelings about the ad.

Joshua Dysart, who has written Valiant Comics Bloodshot, stated, “His own campaign is willing to identify Trump as a galactic terrorist who killed billions (and then was ultimately defeated by liberals) just so they can make his hands look bigger.”

Marvel Comics Senior Editor Jordan D. White added, “Trump’s official campaign twitter just tweeted a meme comparing him to THANOS.” He added, “You know… the villain who wants to MURDER HALF THE UNIVERSE. And depicts him killing the Democrats.”

Current Marauders scribe Gerry Duggan added his own thoughts.

Creator of Deadpool Fabian Nicieza stated, “So Trump’s own campaign thinks he’s Thanos, then what they’re also saying is that the Democrats are this:”

He then shares a gif of Captain America holding Thor’s Mjolnir.

Former Superman writer Ron Marz added, “Thanos killed half the universe and he’s still a better person than Donald Trump. And his kids have actual job skills too.”

The Trump campaign’s deputy communications director Matt Wolking responded to the criticism via The Washington Post.

He told them, “The Trump Campaign is grateful to every bitter, humorless liberal who helped share our post poking fun at Democrats’ pointless impeachment sham.”

Flying Sparks creator Jon Del Arroz offered a different take. He stated, “When they’re this mad you know it’s brilliant.”
