A casting call appears to indicate that not only will a young Luke Skywalker be featured in the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series on Disney Plus, but Leia will also be featured.

The casting call on Backstage expired on December 31, 2019 is for “an undisclosed Disney live action feature.”

The casting call wants both an 8 to 11 year-old boy as well as an 8 to 11 year old girl.

They want the boy to have blonde hair and blue eyes and be white and of European descent. For the girl, they want her to have brunette hair and brown eyes. They also want her to be white and of European descent.

Based on this casting call it definitely appears they want the boy and the girl to be of the same age. The descriptions of the two characters also match up with Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa.

Maybe the most interesting and telling part of this casting call is they want both children to be precocious.

For those unfamiliar with that word it means having developed certain abilities or proclivities at an earlier age. That would definitely align with Force abilities.

And as we’ve seen in The Phantom Menace, Force powers can manifest among children without them being aware of it. It is why Anakin is the only human to pilot a pod racer on Tatooine.

As Qui-Gon Jinn says, “You must have Jedi reflexes if you race pods.”

However, the casting call describes both characters as leads. That might throw up some red flags given the show is about Obi-Wan Kenobi, but it would not be out of the ordinary for Kenobi to be checking up on Luke and Leia in each episode.

Now, obviously this casting call doesn’t actually reference the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, but it does surface a few days after we heard a rumor that a young Luke Skywalker would be showing up in the show.

It appears to be too much of a coincidence to me.

If this does happen to be a casting call for Leia, it would not be the first time we’ve seen a younger version of Leia.

Princess Leia appeared in Star Wars Rebels’ 12th episode of Season 2 voiced by Julie Dolan.

What do you make of this casting call? Do you think it is teasing both Luke and Leia for the Obi-Wan Kenobi series? Or do you think it could be for another Disney production?
