Marvel’s Tigra & Dazzler Show creator Chelsea Handler wants white women to “realize the damage” Donald Trump has caused to non white people.

Handler took to Twitter to write, “I hope the 53% of white women who voted for Donald Trump in 2016 realize the damage he has caused to people who are not white.”

She added, “I hope in 2020 they can think about what it’s like to not be them.”

Handler has had a long history over the last four years attacking the president. Since 2016, Handler has been quite politically active; she even went so far as to claim that his election was a “trigger” for childhood trauma.

During an interview with Trevor Nova on the Daily Show, she talked about how Trump winning the election changed much for her.

She pointed out that the election warped her world view, “I can’t deal with this reality.” She continued, “I felt like the world became unhinged.”

She would go on to explain that the election also gave her something to “be pissed about.”

 

Handler also associated President Trump’s election with her brother’s death. She stated, “Donald Trump represented to me what happened when I was 9 years old and my brother said he was coming back and he never came back. My world became unhinged, so this was a trigger for me.”

In the interview with Noah, Handler would also declare, “I think every white person who doesn’t think about white privilege is part of the problem, not the solution.”

Chelsea Handler is currently serving as Executive Producer for Unspeakable, a half-hour comedy starring Mary McCormack. The show is based on the book by Meghan Daum which follows a forty-five-year-old woman and her life. The show is in pre-production.
