Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot Character Progression Trailer Released

Bandai Namco released the latest trailer for their upcoming Dragon Ball game, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot.

The new trailer details how players will be able to progress through the game.

It details:

“Like  in any other action RPG, players will be able to fight enemies, earn experience points, and level up their characters.”

However, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot adds its own unique way to power up characters. One of those ways is eating.

“Eating is especially important. As not only will you be getting temporary buffs, but also a permanent increase in your characters’ stats.  You can eat some fruits on the go or cook meat at campfires. But the best way to acquire food with high stat boosts is to head to a cook located in towns or small villages to create dishes. Or even better, go home, talk to Chi-Chi and ask her to create a full course meal for you.”

The game also has a collection aspect required to collect and power up super attacks.

These collectible items are called Z orbs, and have different colors found in a number of different locations throughout the game.

Players will need to acquire a certain amount of these Z orbs in order to acquire new super attacks and level them up.

Certain skills labeled with a green icon require players to go to training grounds. These training grounds are accessed through the acquisition of D Medals.

There is also a Community Board function.

“By progressing through the main story or helping out different characters from the Dragon Ball Z world through subquests, you will be gifted with their soul emblems. By placing these emblems on the community board, you can increase the board’s rank giving you access to its community skills.”

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot comes to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on January 17, 2020. The game is developed by CyberConnect2.
