Rumor: Jar Jar Binks to Appear in Obi-Wan Kenobi Star Wars Series With New Look

A new rumor details that Jar Jar Binks will appear in the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series on Disney Plus.

The rumor comes from Making Star Wars which details that Jar Jar Binks will appear in the series with a beard.

Jason Ward of Making Star Wars details that the reason for the beard is to “reflect where he’s been and what his life has been like since they were all deceived by a great lie that ushered in the first Galactic Empire.”

It’s unclear if Ahmed Best, who portrayed Binks in the prequel series as well as voiced the character in many of his appearances in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, will reprise his role.

However, Best is back working for Lucasfilm. He was recently announced as the host for the upcoming Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge game show that will debut on Disney Plus.

Best described his role on the show as a “Jedi Knight that guides kids through challenges to become Jedis.”

Binks last appearance in official Star Wars canon was in Chuck Wendig’s Aftermath: Empire’s End.

Binks is acting as a clown entertaining young children after he had been exiled by the Gungan people. Jar Jar also reveals the people of Naboo shun him for his role in bringing the first Galactic Empire into being.

He eventually befriends a young refugee boy named Mapo and promises to teach him to be a clown as a well.
