WATCH: Morbius Trailer Features Surprise Appearance By Michael Keaton – Is It Vulture?

Sony released their first trailer for their upcoming superhero flick, Morbius.

The film will see Jared Leto take on the role of Dr. Michael Morbius as he seeks to cure himself of a rare blood disease.

While the trailer has some really neat special effects, it looks like your pretty standard superhero origin film.

However, the trailer closed out with a surprise appearance by Michael Keaton. And the big question is if he’s playing Spider-Man villain Vulture from Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Take a look.

If Michael Keaton is playing Vulture it’s quite possible the new deal Marvel and Sony signed last Summer could have made their two film universes much more interconnected than previous thought.

Recent rumors also indicate that J.K. Simmons’ J. Jonah Jameson will also appear in the film further tying the movie to the MCU.

Here’s the official description for the film:

“One of Marvel’s most compelling and conflicted characters comes to the big screen as Oscar® winner Jared Leto transforms into the enigmatic antihero, Michael Morbius. Dangerously ill with a rare blood disorder, and determined to save others suffering his same fate, Dr. Morbius attempts a desperate gamble. What at first appears to be a radical success soon reveals itself to be a remedy potentially worse than the disease.”

Morbius is directed by Daniel Espinosa based off a story from Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless.

The screenplay was written by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless and Art Marcu and Matt Holloway.

It is expected to hit theaters on July 31, 2020.
