Here’s what people are saying:

Mike H gives it 5 stars. He writes, “Absolutely the best DC film ever. Totally makes up for Suicide squad!”

Steve S gives it 1.5 stars. He writes, “I thought Id give it a go as I did think the last one was “ok” yep as I suspected not my cup of tea. Sad times we are living when you cant enjoy a bit of escapism without having BS rammed down your throat … One day hollywood might understand but then again …. not to mention the poor storyline and bad acting … it was like watching a daytime soap for first time actors.”

Max W gives it 1 star. He writes, “Worse than Cats. Do yourself a favor and watch 1917, Little Women, or even the new Star Wars movie before you get near this crap.”

David O gives it 5 stars. He writes, “Great fun…. Mary Elizabeth Windstead NAILED it, need full movie for her character.”

Toby H gives it 4 stars. He writes, “Birds of Prey is a loud ultra-violent mess of a comic book movie, but we loved it. Engaging, detailed and likeable characters inventively kick ass all over Gotham. Margot is the perfect Quinn. These birds have taken off.”

Martin H gives it 1.5 stars. He writes, “It’s DC’s Charlie’s Angels. At least McGregor was fun.”

Artem K gives it a half star. He writes, “This is worst movie in my life.”

Luciano O gives the movie 4.5 stars. He writes, “A really good movie with astonishing action scenes. Although it seems to be a little short, every member of the cast has the moment to shine and they indeed do.”

Pedro G. gives the movie 5 stars. He writes, “Crazy, funny and violent. The best fight scenes of DCU and an amazing performance by Margot Robbie.”

Damien N gives it 5 stars. He writes, “The storytelling is chaotic, but thematically fitting. The movie is beautiful and colorful and you can really tell they went all in on good action scenes with great visuals to go with them (PG-16 indeed!). The characters (especially Huntress) are very well put together and likeable. Margot Robbie had a great vision and the studio backed her and we got this beautiful baby from it.”

Nico B gives it 3 stars. He writes, “Birds of Prey doesn’t try to be more than what it is, a cheesy, over-the-top fun ride with a colorful cast of characters, intense action sequences, and plenty of laughs but also a surprising amount of heart, all strung together by Margot Robbie’s undeniable charm!”

Chris M gives it 5 stars. He writes, “This movie is really friggin awesome I cannot wait to see it again 10/10 Margot Robbie owns it.”

Metacritic

On Metacritic, the User Score currently sits at 6.1 out of 10. The movie has 87 positive reviews, 11 mixed reviews, and 50 negative reviews.

Here’s what users are saying on Metacritic:

NRGFLO gives the movie a 0. They write, “Garbage movie. People giving this movie a 10/10 must be paid off. Funny how the reviews below me have the name “Jerz” as their username & all 3 gave it a 10. Hmmm… Use your money to watch 1917 or Parasite instead.”

Reud gives the movie a 1. They write, “I went with friends, hoping we could at least laugh at how horrible this movie is going to be… We couldn’t, it was just so sad and pathetic. At least Cats made us laugh. Woke level: Extremely cringey.”

bo3lwa gives the movie a 0. They write, “I **** hate Suicide squad but i thing it’s better ate one point than birds of prey sorry DC fan boys that’s what it is the movie is so bad.”

Zaksim gives the movie a 0. They write, “The worst movie ever. The film has an awkward performance, a crude story. But action is worth seeing.”

Kyrsben gives the movie a 2. They write, “A superhero movie where not even a single character resembles the comic book equivalent, filmed with all the craftmanship of a $500 budget Youtube video. Miserable dreck, avoid.”

PenguinSenpai gives the movie a 10. They write, “Fun, frenetic action that leads you out of breath. Genuinely interesting characters mixed with the enticing plot makes this one of DC’s best films ever. Yeah. And no, this isn’t man hating trash from a ‘woke’ era. Watch it and enjoy.”

Shauvik gives the movie a 9. They write, “Perfectly made comic Action movie.. Loved the Origin of a team.. Action was Fantastic.”

MKX-JADE gives the movie a 10. They write, “Amazing Action pack thrill it was one of the best dc movies.Action Packed fun filled movie there was a ton of Harley Quinn which I loved but many did’t which i understand but the movie is really funny and totally worth the wait.”

Vicwonder gives the movie a 10. They write, “Talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, show stopping, spectacular, never the same, totally unique, completely not ever been done before, unafraid to reference or not reference, put it in a blender, **** on it, vomit on it, eat it, give birth to it.”

EdTheRingleader gives the movie a 9. They write, “I really enjoyed it! The characters may not be extremely comics accurate, with one being rather loosely adapted, but they stayed pretty true to the basics. It was a fun ride with great action sequences and jokes. And it didn’t have any kind of pushy “wokeness” that people keep complaining about. It’s a great film, in a series now from DC. Aquaman, Shazam!, Joker, and now this! I’m hoping for more! Go see this one!”

Paponayala gives the movie a 10. They write, “All the stupid kids will complain that this movie has lots of SJW propoganda, but it doesnt. It’s not captain marvel. The movie is cool and chill.”

LatinCritic13 gives the movie a 7. They write, “After the events of Suicide Squad, it is safe to say that Harley Quinn’s break up with “The Joker” actually worked quite well in Birds of Prey. What turns out to be a surprise is the stunt choreography led by John Wick’s Chad Stahelski and the colorful cinematography. And everything else except a cheap one-dimensional villain is just icing on the cake. DCEU finally has a good R-Rated film and it didn’t disappoint. Is it bad and feminist as Captain Marvel? Nope, but it’s certainly a bloody good time seeing these women kicking ass in this gritty Tarantino-like DC flick. At least I didn’t drink bleach after seeing it.”

IMDB

On IMDB, the film has a weighted average score of 6.7 out of 10 from 6,725 users.

As you can see in the chart below 20% of voters gave the film a 10. Another 20% gave it a 7. 16% gave it an 8 and 12% gave it a 6. Almost 10% gave it a 1.

IMDB also gives us a breakdown via demographics. Women ages 18+ appeared to give the movie higher overall scores than men ages 18+. However, that trend was revered with men and women under the age of 18. However, those sample sizes are also a lot smaller compared to the other ranges.

Maybe more importantly is that there are significantly more men reviewing this film, possibly indicating more men went to see it than women.

Here’s what people are saying on IMDB:

Curbicon gives the movie an 8. They write, “I’ll just go straight for it, if you’re going to downvote this review for defending a genuinely entertaining violent film, i get that. Literally just WATCH THE MOVIE! This movie is anything but a “men are trash” movie. It’s a fun flick about a heist where it’s all knives at eachothers throats. Genuinely formulaic at times, sure, but that’s practically a given for these types of films! Margot Robbie gave a fantastic performance as the Quinn herself, and the side characters had their moments as well! Gotta give a FAT shoutout to McGregor for his role. He brought just as much flame and fire as Margot gave her role. Go ahead and do yourself a favor. This is a good ass time to watch!”

Ndetzzz gives the movie a 4. They write, “While Margot Robbie is a good Harley Quinn, the character was not given enough arc. The plot was predictable and mainstream, especially due to lack of a strong antagonist. The main antagonist, played by Ewan McGregor, was not developed and hence did not add significant value to the plot story. Although some of the fight scenes were entertaining, the film as a whole was truly forgettable.”

Gcarpieci gives the movie a 5. They write, “If you are not driven by the imperative need of understanding precisely what is happening in your movie, you might enjoy this psychedelic mix of disjointed cool visuals, great music, firecrackers, fragments of good acting… Birds Of Prey is a mess presented in a messy way, it hardly holds together as a story but it offers moments of fun.”

Eli_Elvis gives the movie a 1. They write, “Suggestion, when doing a comic book film using beloved characters make sure to land those characters. You can deconstruct them all you like, but if the heart isn’t there you get this instead of “the joker”. There is no Birds of prey, at least none recognizable from their source material counterparts. Robbie is not Harley, her 90’s trashy grunge gender studies cousin maybe, but not Harley. When a cartoon does better than a multi-million dollar film, you’ve failed. Over the top man hating new wave feminism and alphabet “representation” for no reason. Action is not believable. Writing is atrocious. Editing is frenetic. If you hated Suicide squad, welcome to its jealous over achieving sister.”

Atlfitzgerald-16359 gave the movie a 3. They write, “A dud from Warner Bros. The best thing about suicide squad was Robbie’s performance but this vehicle is a disservice to the potential that was there. Robbie does her best but the direction, script and editing are not at the requisite level. An interesting character poorly treated by a very lacklustre script. Disappointing.”

Dnoote gievs the movie an 8. They write, “You can always tell when someone reviews a movie that has either not even seen the film, or only wants to compare the film to an old comic book … instead of just enjoying the film on its own merit and without any agenda. BoP was fun to watch, well worth the price of admission, and highly recommended.”

Robthesnob gives the movie a 4. They write, “Just another raging feminist movie with race swapping and totally butchers every character especially Black Mask and Black Canary, Huntress is irrelevant. The writing is bad, it’s just terrible.”

Bajada-86680 gives the movie a 5. They write, “Just got out of a 6pm showing Thursday night. Overall disappointing, all the jokes fell flat except 2 where the majority of the audience laughed. The fights are all slow mo where the guy flips, seriously they overdid it. It was just bland. They screwed up Huntress as little as she was in it, they made her a “bro” kinda dimwit. It was just overall bland. I think it’ll make money because they’re hardcore pushing the girl power all men are bad in the movie but they dropped the ball. OG Suicide Squad is better and that’s saying something.”

Joelluamba gives the movie a 3. They write, “It’s trying to be a Deadpool movie but it failed Miserably. There are some good action sequences but overall they are nothing like the Birds of Prey. For being a comic book movie it definitely fails. It’s a messy movie overall.”

Bobbybsaveswesteros gives the movie a 10. They write, “Everything looks cool. From the action sequences, to the settings, plot, and chemistry between the casts and most importantly Ewan McGregor as Roman Sionis and Mary Elizabeth Winstead as The Huntress . Kudos to the whole team. Margot Robbie deserves special appreciation for pitching this idea and managed to convince The WB studios to produce the film. Ahh!! It looks like butthurt Dudebros are coming in packs to give a single star rating. I bet most of them didn’t even see the movie yet.”

Eugenewicaksono gives the movie a 6. They write, “In the beginning, of the movie, the plot is pretty boring, but I kinda like the ending, the plot is too simple, but I didn’t expect too much when I saw this movie if my friends invite me to watch this movie again, I gonna say yes!!!”
