Singer Grimes Spoils The Story Of Her Cyberpunk 2077 Character Named Lizzy Wizzy

Canadian songstress Grimes recently shared the in-game story of her Cyberpunk 2077 character, Lizzy Wizzy, in a now-private YouTube video.

Fortunately, a summary of her video was captured by Reddit user Ros96 in the Cyberpunk Subreddit.

The summary reads:

“I did my voice acting for Lizzy Wizzy, that game is going to be f***ing good. I mean I haven’t played it, but I saw someone play an hour of the game. The game was fantastic, and I play a pop star who committed suicide on stage, and they had to quickly come and perform emergency surgery and replace her whole body with cybernetics while she was dead for an hour and then she finished the show as a cyborg. One of the greatest pieces of performance art ever made.”

A mirror of Grimes’ livestream where she reveals her character’s story can be watched below.

There wasn’t any clarification if this was something that the player’s main character would witness, or just something that would be referenced to in the general story.

This does however, shed some light on the gritty type of character storytelling we will be seeing in the game.

If Grimes’ character has a backstory this graphic and dark, one can only imagine what Keanu’s character will be like, or even your main character.

Not only will there be a character based on Grimes in the game, but she’s also part of the game’s official soundtrack alongside ASAP Rocky, Run The Jewels, Refused, Nina Kraviz, Gazelle Twin, Ilan Rubin, Richard Devine, Deadly Hunta, Rat Boy, and Tina Guo.

CD Projekt Red was recently valued at $8 billion dollars, thanks to a 554 percent boost in sales of the Witcher series of games.

The video game series had a recent resurgence with the release of The Witcher live-action series starring Henry Cavill on Netflix.

With storytelling like this across franchises like the Witcher and Cyberpunk, it only bodes well for the developers and gamers alike.

Even with its recent delay for polish, Cyberpunk 2077 is already shaping up to be a game of the year contender when it drops.
