WarnerMedia Opens Investigation Into Ray Fisher’s Justice League Claims Against Joss Whedon And Geoff Johns

WarnerMedia is investigating allegations made by Cyborg actor Ray Fisher of what occurred on the set of Justice League at the hands of Joss Whedon and Geoff Johns.

Variety reports an investigation’s been launched into the “repeated public statements” made by Fisher that allege “misconduct” and unprofessional treatment by Whedon, Johns, and producer Jon Berg.

Variety adds there are “no findings yet” and “no specific timeline for the investigation.” Their source went on to say Whedon, Johns, and Berg won’t be prejudged and the investigation won’t be limited to them or conducted publicly.

Fisher tweeted the investigation is “independent” and “third-party.” He wrote, “This is a MASSIVE step forward!”

He further posted Johns, Whedon, Berg, and unnamed “others…grossly abused their power” and used the upheaval of the Time Warner/AT&T merger as cover.

Fisher thanked Warner and AT&T “for making strides to ensure a safer workplace for all!” He signed off with a prayer emoji and “A > E” – a variation on the Accountability > Entertainment stamp he’s taken to using.

Fisher went public with his accusations against Whedon in July. He charged the Buffy creator with “gross, abusive, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable” behavior exhibited on the set of Justice League when he took over for reshoots.

These charges were backed up by numerous supporters of Fisher, some of whom were present on set. Grace Randolph of YouTube’s Beyond The Trailer has also reported on such incidents.

Fisher didn’t, and still hasn’t, shared all the details but he initially contended Johns and Berg enabled Whedon’s conduct. He went further this month, claiming Johns “summoned” him to his office and threatened his career.

The actor also said Johns admonished him and his agent for taking “grievances up the proper chain of command.”

Despite reported efforts to intimidate Fisher, he has also tweeted he will not relent and understands the risks which come with speaking out.

Berg denies these claims as “categorically untrue that we enabled any unprofessional behavior.” Whedon and Johns have not commented.

Variety notes, and it should be noted, corroboration of Fisher’s allegations hasn’t been offered yet.

Ray Fisher reprises Cyborg in Zack Snyder’s Justice League which is being promoted this weekend at DC FanDome.
