Redanian Intelligence specifically reports that one of the possible spinoffs from The Witcher could revolve around the witches and sorceresses.

Redanian Intelligence’s Yslyven writes, “News reaches us via reliable insider Daniel Ritchman that one such project could focus on the mages of the Witcher world. Specifically the witches/sorceresses.”

Richtman previously indicated there were more Witcher spinoffs in the works back in July.

In response to the announcement about the officially announced live-action prequel series The Witcher: Blood Origin, Richtman tweeted, “Heard about this one awhile ago and since it is now confirmed I can tell you it’s not the only spin-off in development.”

Aside from the main The Witcher series, Netflix has already announced two spinoff projects. The first is an animated film titled The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf.

The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf comes from The Witcher showrunner Lauren Hissrich and screenwriter Beau DeMayo. It will be produced by Studio Mir the team behind the Legend of Korra.

As for what the animated film will be about, Netflix provided a brief synopsis, “The anime film, The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, will take us back to a new threat facing the Continent.”

A much lengthier synopsis would be captured in February revealing that the film will focus on Geralt’s mentor Vesemir.

A screenshot captured on Netflix’s website described the film, “Long before mentoring Geralt, Vesemir begins his own journey as a witcher after the mysterious Deglan claims him through the Law of Surprise.”

The second confirmed project is the six-part live-action series The Witcher: Blood Origin.

This miniseries is set to take place 1200 years before the time of “Geralt of Rivia, the worlds of monsters, men and elves merged into one, and the first Witcher came to be.”

Showrunner Declan de Barra would further tease the series saying, “A question has been burning in my mind ever since I first read ‘The Witcher’ books: What was the Elven world really like before the cataclysmic arrival of the humans?”

He added, “I’ve always been fascinated by the rise and fall of civilizations, how science, discovery, and culture flourish right before that fall.”

The Witcher showrunner Lauren Hissrich also stated, “I am so thrilled to collaborate with Declan and the Netflix team on The Witcher: Blood Origin. It’s an exciting challenge to explore and expand The Witcher universe created by Andrzej Sapkowski, and we can’t wait to introduce fans to new characters and an original story that will enrich our magical, mythical world even more.”
