Joe Manganiello Answers Whether or Not Deathstroke Has More Scenes in The Snyder Cut

We know a lot was left on the editing room floor thanks to reshoots and the recutting of Zack Snyder’s vision for the Justice League. Someone who had much more material – it’s only a question of how much – was Deathstroke.
The actor who played him, Joe Manganiello, interviewed with Collider and was asked if he was taking part in additional scenes being filmed and if he could reveal anything.

Manganiello didn’t have much to say, except that Snyder would be the guy to ask, and answered he isn’t a part of filming any scenes. “If I was a part of it, it wouldn’t be my place to announce that,” he said. “That would be Zack [Snyder]’s place.”
Manganiello would continue, “Whether or not that’s happening… That is an answer that’s below my NDA level.” That sounds definitive but you never know until an actor shows up on the screen.
Like Henry Cavill, Manganiello could be maneuvering out of questions relating to The Snyder Cut because he has some added involvement.
His mention of an NDA (non-disclosure agreement) is a possible sign he is contracted into silence regarding further surprises with Justice League.
Deathstroke appears in a post-credits scene at the tail end of Justice League being recruited by Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg). We know that scene was supposed to be different in Snyder’s version which Manganiello has confirmed that in the past.
“On my social media, I talked about [how] there was an original end credits sequence that was altered for the release of Justice League,” he recalled.
That scene had Slade Wilson breaking out of prison during a riot, leaving Lex behind while he talked about how people fear him. It was cut and Slade’s cameo was altered. Manganiello told Collider the reason.
“Once Batman was canceled, they altered that scene,” Manganiello explained. Deathstroke was going to be the villain in The Batman when Ben Affleck was still in charge of the project, and may get to be if Affleck gets his rumored second crack at it.

Fortunately, Manganiello says the original ending with Deathstroke he’s lobbied for will make the cut this time.
“So, here you go, but I wrote about that on my social media,” he assures. “There’s an original scene that will be restored to what it was originally.”
We’ll see it when Zack Snyder’s Justice League hits HBO Max in 2021. If all goes well we might see Deathstroke one-on-one with Batman in a follow-up.
Sadly, the same can’t be said for the assassin’s own spinoff movie we were promised from Raid director Gareth Evans. WarnerMedia shows no indication they are keen on resurrecting that project.
